DRDO has intiated the tender to manufacture small turbo fan engine.The sailent points of this tender is
1) Two firms will be selected and equal number of orders will be given in pre-production phase followed by production phase.
2) pre-production period is two years during which qualification and certification of various materials will done by GTRE.
3) This will be followed by Production phase.
This small turbo fan engine could be our Laghu shakthi engine which is powering Nirbhay missile.So in all from two years from now,we will see Serial produced Turbo fan engine in Nirbhay missiles.Finally things seem to be moving in GTRE.
