What people are missing in this apart from range is "Indian propulsion system". So we are making ramjet emgine too now, but are making it from "indigenous" raw materials or importing them from Russia aka similar to what we do with AL31?

Propulsion system is not engine.

Well according to Wikipedia, we have already upgraded it to 500km range and are further upgrading it to 600km, correct me if I'm wrong.

Wikipedia is not an official source what you are seeing right now is.

Brahmos always had the capability upto 1000km but was curtailed due to mtcr pact of which Russia was signatory. Now India being a member of that there is no such issue.

It's range will be increased as well it's speed in a phased manner at the same time increasing the indigenous content of this missile.

Then what ? The first stage ? Because second stage is ramjet. Are you saying that Ramjet is still Russian while the first stage is Indian now ?
As per contract, the seeker and RAMJET engine of BRAHMOS would always be Russian.

Mind that instead of using the term Engine, the report is using propulsion system. We had already tested the indigenous booster and all current production variants use that.

This time we tested indigenous fuel regulator system which is a part of the propulsion system.

False news...... This is the second time that we tested a ER version of BRAHMOS. The versions currently in deployment are 290km range officially. Unofficially they are 300+ km, but no where near 500km.

The official source does not state the range at which this test was conducted. What is the source for the claim that this test was 450 km or otherwise?

If the seeker is always going to be Russian, why then did Brahmos Corp and DRDO test Indian seekers on Brahmos last year? Could they have modified the contract/worked around the contract with ascent of the Russians somehow?
If they could do that for the seeker, maybe they could also do that for the propulsion?

BRAHMOS is not only the CM or AShCM we are currently developing. The same seeker of BRAHMOS is making way into Nirbhay. The same seeker would go into two more AShM which are in development as of now.
So basically we are testing our seekers on borad BRAHMOS which would eventually equip our other systems.

Here is a livefist article about it:-
https://www.livefistdefence.com/201...est-on-march-22-is-an-indian-gamechanger.html

The article first talks about the 2018 test with indigenous seeker and then there is a last section which was added today as an update about the latest test. Shiv also agrees with your claim that Brahmos test yesterday did not have an Indian ramjet.

I am not claiming it. Its a fact.

We don't have the luxury of testing every new tech on a prototype. So what is the next best option? Use the only mature platform you have and test your subsystems on it during user trials which anyway would happen one time or other.

So in past we had a couple of failure in test flight of BRAHMOS and you know the reason why. Seeker we have tested in BRAHMOS would go into NIRBHAY and down the line the fuel control we have tested now would go into LFRJ in development.
