the world system at the moment is that the brit-american alliance rules the world with one or two other powers eg russia holding their own. So the brit-am sets the "rules" and the dice are "loaded" in their favour.... so when they steal something from abroad , it's not theft but a legal move , when they start a war somewhere it is whatever they wanna call it.
Brit-American alliance?

The Brits can't do squat. It's America that runs the show, and Britain is just a loyal lapdog.

Actually, many Pakistani PoWs were guarded by Indian Army after the instrument of surrender was signed. The Mukti Bahini wanted these PoWs to be handed over to them. They were ready to butcher them in public. The Indian Army refused. The Mukti Bahini then went on to hunt down the Razakars and many of them were publicly executed.

I am ambivalent towards the decision by Indian Army to protect the PoWs from the Mukti Bahini. It has good as well as bad sides.
Considering that many of them went on to train and arm terrorists who killed thousands in India over the next four decades, I would say that was a rather stupid decision. Not sure how many Razakars met their deserved fate, many of them later formed the core of fundamentalist parties such as Jamaat-E-Islami and Ershad's Jatiya party. Till this day they remain rabid anti-Indian and pro-Pakistan fanatics.

Civilised behaviour is fine when dealing with civilised folks. When dealing with Pakbarians, the first thing out of the window should be the rule book for civilised conduct against enemies

I agree with you. The only caveat would be India allowing a mass murder of Pakistani PoWs would have invited massive international criticism and diplomatic isolation to India. In any case, personally, I would have preferred the PoWs were handed over to the Mukti Bahini. They deserved nothing less than death.

perhaps on their own the brits can do only what you've said, no argement with you on that ! .....point is theyre not alone and the Umreekans for whatever strange reasons seem to take a lot of "advice ", counsel and 2nd opinions from their " forefathers" the brits

the said alliance is also THE leadership factor in the now-evolving new world order .

It's more likely that pigs will fly, elephants will sing raag bhairavi and serenade, turkeys will solve calculus equations before even an hint of apology from the Pukis.
