MOSCOW, April 1 (RIA Novosti) - Sources close to Sukhoi Design Bureau and Rosoboronexport, Russia's intermediary agency for the export of defense products, have confirmed recently through our affiliates in Moscow that the Indian Air Force has shown interest in the Sukhoi 34 fighter/bomber. Sources state officials from IAF's Eastern Air Command were in Russia over the past two days evaluating the aircraft.

The Su-34 is an advanced Russian 2-seat fighter-bomber. It is intended to eventually replace the Sukhoi Su-24 and the Tupolev Tu-22M in the Russian Air Force, who are operating 12 at the moment with more orders on the horizon.

I Dont think so vijay,.....The Su-34 weights and size almost the same has the E-2 Hawkeye Platform. It cant be launched from INS Vikramaditya especially without any Catapalts to launch.


I rather prefer to see shipborne AEW platform like Su-34 rather than a useless bomber. I did read somewhere that, The Su-34 has seperate toilet room in the aircraft itself. That its speciality over other Fighter/Bombers.
