70% same regarding hardware, deign is different..

And LCH protection level are high..

So if LCH is a combat Helo and ALH Rudra is a combat helo too, what's the real difference? Why two designs?

LCH is a dedicated combat helo, the Rudra however is based on the armed assault chopper concept. they are designed for different purposes hwile the LCH is designed to be a tank -killer and provide close CAS to infantry and armor, the Rudra is designed to soften up enemy targets before landing to put boots on the ground.

LCH is for high altitude battle fields, perhaps?

it makes no sense to have the expensive PARS LR now, since the Hellfire does all that and much more for a far better price. makes no sense have inventory of PARS LR, Helina and Hellfires, just get Hellfires for LCH as well, no other ATGM is more combat proven, furthermore Hellfire can be deployed from UAVS, LCH; Apache and probably even Dhruv, Hellfire also comes in more warhead varieties including bunker busting, anti armour and thermobaric.

I believe the AH-64 won for two main reasons only the need to placate Boeing for the MMRCA loss and because it was the most battle tested of it's competitors.

That said i still believe we should have gone with the Mi-28, my point is that we could have MKIsed that whirly bird and added israeli tech and maybe even the HELINA to it, fat chance of us ever getting to do that with the yanks!

Rudra is between a logistic helo and a pure dedicated gunship..

It can ferry troops and loges-tics as well as give fire-support mission..

Its lighter and have multiple uses, The kind of Combo we are talking is use in every major Air-force..

They have a long way to go, If we give them Helicopters in good amount they should have facilities to maintain them also the work force, though they are on the right track, Btw, Paramilitary best helo for COIN job should be Lancer and Rudra..

NSG need Some Good Helos like Dhruv, Dhruv is best choice for helo operations, though Rudra may cause over kill..

dont you thing we should provide stealth hele to our special force (army) , dont you think now govt should take some serious steps

well personally i dont feel nation security on govt shoulder , its upto our force and they have tell the govt in strong words we need these things on

My dear India fellas: glad for you... ... Taiwan is also considering Low Bow before, but turn out too expensive to us (AH1S finally, as it also proved excellent for marine & anti-landing warfare)
Yet, if US has been good at anything: it is the best on earth who know about using arms export & spare parts to control (limit) another country. For example, every Taiwanese know about the trick that US told you most its parts life is "under 3 years" even you can bet on it will last longer. We presently dont need Stealth Helo but First we need to make our first Stealth fighter, Only US is known to have such capabilities which is known to general public..
