On June 23, 1985, a bomb exploded on Air India Flight 182, killing all 331 people on board, including 280 Canadians. Thirty-five years later, we Indo-Canadians are remembering the victims of the country's worst terrorist attack. This tragedy has never got the recognition in Canada it deserves because most of the victims were not considered Canadians. Not our problem was the attitude of Canadian governments for some years although of the 329 people killed,268 were Canadian citizens including 86 children and 6 infants. The one country that we will always remember and be grateful to is Ireland. The Irish were incredible. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Our debt to them could never be repaid. We will also remember the help of the Indian Ambassador to Ireland and his wife.Very conspicuously absent were the Canadian officials.

Disgusting his picture is hanging in a gurdwara have heard a few of my fellow sikhs make excuses for this . Sometimes it's hard to admit that your one of your own can be worse then a animal . But the people that defend this are just animals like him . I always think how the children must have been so excited to be going on a plane only not knowing what was coming . Shame on the gurdwara for displaying his picture like he a martyr .

A sad, tragically historic day. Some of the conspirators are likely still out there. What's astounding is that this horrific incident, the worst terror attack involving an aircraft before the 9-11 WTC attack, is rarely if ever a subject of reference when the issue of terrorism comes up. There is simply some resistance to include India as a major victim of terrorism. Even when most of the victims are not even citizens of India. Oh, and long live Terry Milewski for his courage and independence of principle. He has been the recipient of hostility and disdain from elements of the Sikh Canadian community, but has stood his ground.

Parmar was a terrorist, plain and simple.

No gurdwara should be hosting his picture.

Its on record Jagmeet refused to condemn the bomber(s) of AI 182.To-day he is trying to play the politics game.He has never been forthright in his condemnation of the bombing.I have great admiration and respect for Sikhs but not this hypocrite leader of NDP - Canadian equivalent of Labour in UK and Democratic Party in US.

What's perplexing is that Canada has allowed Sikh separatist spokesmen on its soil, including some very strident ones. Even after it was proved that Sikh extremists blew up the Air India jet. Palestinian and Irish nationalists, are barely to be seen in any public environment. And any organisation of theirs advocating separatism, let alone violent separatism, would be prohibited.
