We should use maximum fire power on LOC . Everything in our arsenal should be used to target Pak army forward obs post, bunkers, depots, militant launchpads and training camps. And artillery, mortars should be produced on industrial scale. The towed artillery tender should be completed asap

Lt Gen Bipin Rawat was named the next army chief on Saturday, as the government abandoned a three-decade-old tradition of elevating senior-most officers as service chiefs. The vice-chief will succeed Gen Dalbir Singh, who retires on December 31.

• 1. Lt Gen Bipin Rawat joined the Indian Army in December 1978.
  
  2. Rawat won the Sword of Honour when he graduated the Indian Military Academy in 1978.
  
  3. He was commissioned into the 5/11 Gorkha Rifles.
  
  4. He is second consecutive chief from the Gorkha Rifles. Gen Dalbir Singh was commissioned into 4/5 Gorkha Rifles.
  
  5. Gen Rawat is from a military background. His father was also a lieutenant general.
  
  6. Rawat was commanding the Pune-based Southern Command before he was appointed the army vice-chief.
  
  7. Rawat miraculously survived a chopper accident when he was the commander of the Dimapur-based Headquarters 3 Corps.
  
  8. Rawat, who learnt his art in Kashmir and the northeast, headed the Indian brigade during the UN peacekeeping operation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2008.Indian peacekeepers performed splendidly under his leadership. The general is credited with providing dynamic leadership under the UN banner. The Indian peacekeepers switched their approach from a velvet glove to an iron fist under his leadership.

Our understanding is that the terrorists were in the vehicle and they hid at the intersection of the highway and that bylane and waited for the convoy to come close. When it came close, they fired from barely 10 yards. Their first shot was on the first vehicle which had been 'hardened' (another way of saying bullet proof/armoured) which inflicted no damage. But the second one wasn't and that is where we lost three of our men. The area was not dominated effectively," explained a source.

Why are civilian vehicles allowed to even approach close to Army convoys? Why aren't all vehicles in convoys in vulnerable areas bullet proofed?

Why are civilian vehicles allowed to even approach close to Army convoys? Why aren't all vehicles in convoys in vulnerable areas bullet proofed?

May be that road is single lane and used by civilians too on daily bases. Which makes army convoys difficult to warn everybody passing by as it is not a war zone like Afghanistan .

So blunder is not having number of bullet proof vehicles for convoys.

Never let ur enemy rest, which helps them plan terror attacks. There are no ethics in this war keep killing paki soldiers on Loc regularly.

Needed more coombing operations and use thermobaric rockets en serve porky ribs.

Hope new bjp president is elected soon and withdraw support to meha boobs party and place presidential rule and scrape 370 as soon as possible.

Hamas says Israel killed its drone expert in Tunisia

Palestinian Islamist group Hamas said today a Tunisian engineer murdered in the North African country was one of its leaders, accused Israel of the killing and vowed to avenge him.

Mohamed Zaouari, a 49-year-old engineer, was murdered at the wheel of his car outside his house in Tunisia's second city, Sfax, on Thursday.

Al-Qassam Martyrs Brigade, the armed wing of Hamas that controls the Gaza Strip, told AFP today that drone expert Zaouari was killed by "Zionist treachery", referring to Israel.

It said Zaouari had worked for the "resistance" for 10 years, and announced a day of mourning.

"Zaouari's assassination in Tunisia is aggression against the resistance, and Al-Qassam Brigades and the enemy should know that the blood of the leaders will not be wasted and lost in vain," it said in a separate statement.

They did nagrota deliberately assuming we may again go for surgerical strike, They will obviously be having heavy presence With heavy weapons ready, so when our soldiers cross loc they can have a chance of revenge not that they would have escaped from our heavy fire they would have suffered more damage but the surprise element was not there now. Qe should do cross border heavy strike. Unke G mein dum nahi samne se ladh sake, ghori k samay se chup k var karna hi aata hai.

The handover of command is to happen soon. And there fore the new chief will come. Pakis will try to disturb it and give message to new chief.

Indian soldiers should be on alert.

The only effective way is light up the loc. And give them martyrs of their army to decorate for every terror strike they do in ind.
Because using proxies they are playing safe game. By inflicting damage to Indian soldiers and keeping away from blame and also being away from line of fire.
Kashmir is for them holidays. Much safer than balochistan or kpk. Hence its time to disturb tbeir holidays.

Air Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa is the New Air Force Chief

New Delhi: Air Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, a Kargil war veteran and first-rate fighter pilot will be the next Indian Air Force Chief (IAF) succeeding incumbent Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha who relinquishes the office on December 31.

Commissioned in the IAF in June 1978 as a fighter pilot, Dhanoa is an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College, the National Defence Academy and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.


Born on September 7, 1957, 59-year-old Air Marshal Dhanoa is expected to have tenure of about three years as the Chief of Air Staff.

Born in Punjab’s SAS Nagar, Mohali district, Air Marshal Dhanoa comes from a family of war veterans. His grandfather Capt Sant Singh was with the British Indian Army and fought in the World War-II against the Japanese. His father, Sarayan Singh, served as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab during the 1980s and later served as advisor to the state governor.

Prior to moving in as Vice-Chief, he was Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command.

Air Marshal Dhanoa is a qualified flying instructor and has flown various types of fighter aircraft in his successful career.

During the Operation Vijay in 1999 (Kargil Operations), he famously commanded a fighter squadron and himself flew numerous night strike missions in the mountainous terrain.

He has distinguishably served various important operation appointments including Chief Instructor (Air) at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence) at Air Headquarters and Senior Air Staff Officer of two operational Commands.

He was awarded Yudh Seva Medal (YSM), Vayusena Medal (VM) in 1999, and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2015.

In another high-profile appointment, Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, the vice chief of the Indian Army, was tapped in as the next Army chief, succeeding General Dalbir Singh Suhag.
