    The Atheism/Agnosticism Thread

Secular humanism as a substitute for morals seems like a failed experiment. Religion is dead in the west, but nature abhors a vaccum. Exit traditional religion, enter wokeism.

There is a lot of confusion on this part: Some claim that Charvaka (materialists) and other Nastika philosophies (Jain, Buddhist) are also "Hindu". Many people who say atheism is a part of Hinduism fall into this category. This logic IMO is fuzzy unless you claim that all Indian religions are...

This is truly funny. Many self proclaimed "Hindu-nationalists" today have almost zero Civilizational memory. Although they're at the forefront of showcasing how bad Islam is, when it comes to 'defending' Hinduism all we get are references to Aircraft in Vedas, Nuclear War in Mahabharata, Tejo...

Re: Salam, Schalom, Namaste! Yes it comes from Reverend Henry More's "An Explanation of the Grand Mystery of Godliness: A True and Faithfull Representation of the Everlasting Gospel of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" I don't think his outlook is universal at all . Let's simply agree to...

Re: Salam, Schalom, Namaste! The Greeks never used the term "Monotheism", Monism was all they could come up with. This word was coined later in Christian Europe and was used in a particular context. "God" then was mostly an all powerful, possibly male entity. But what does "Onkar" mean ? Is...

Re: Salam, Schalom, Namaste! Only Abrahamic faiths are truly monotheistic. The term developed with respect to them. No one should interfere with personal beliefs. However, if a Muslim believes that Harry Potter is the next Prophet then his beliefs won't be a part of Islam, thekedarki...

Making "God" Satchit Ananda gives a personality. IIRC all branches of Vedanta don't agree on Sat chit Ananda. I don't know how someone would describe the realization of Ultimate Reality. Philosophers came up with Ananda since it has positive connotations.
