The purchase is reported to be worth over Rs 25,000 crore.
The proposed acquisition of submarines was discussed Monday during the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting—which clears the acquisitions by the armed forces—chaired by Defence Minister A K Antony. The meeting also discussed Army’s proposal to upgrade Air Defence equipment—guns and missiles systems.

Just a out of context reference from a movie I had watched some time before. No other country operates s1000 I think at present. Even the advanced Akula-II that India is leasing from Russia has no match in Russian navy itself.
that is project 75.I think for project 75 a. India had already selected the scorpene.
its actually 14...2 foxtrots are going to draw pension.........within 2020 the number will be 26...smaller but a leathal force specilly with the new recruits.Oh i see. My mistake. The scorpenes are also starting to cost that much as per reports on domain-b. Lets hope the select the sub quickly and avoid cost escalation. Our fleet numbers of 16 are at stake.
