If you were given the same generic product at the same price, what 'Made In' label would you look for first? List up to 10 countries that you think are at the top of quality branding. For me... 1) France 2) Germany 3) US 4) Italy 5) S. Korea 6) Taiwan 7) Malaysia 8) Japan 9) Ireland 10) India Some countries I avoid... 1) China 2) Pakistan 3) Turkey 4) Azerbaijan 5) Syria
I don't think I've ever seen anything with a 'Made in France' label, except a few mechanical pencils.
I have never seen made in France products in India. Be it industrial which is my line of business or retail stuff. I'd look for the label that reads made in China. to avoid it that is unless it is from a big brand. German products are very good but bloody expensive. Made in US is a rarity these days as they outsource all manufacturing to china. Made in India stuff in consumer items is good. Apparels are of very good quality. But yeah most stuff is made in china if it's from a foreign label.
Some Made in France brands you may not be aware of... Bic Gillette Michelin Louis Vuitton Hennessy L'Oreal Total motor performance Carrefour store brand Activia Axe Cartier Danon Alcatel Chanel Evian Christian Dior Renault Peugeot Perrier Lactalis Martell Cif Groupe SEB
Heard majority of them. I use michillin tires. Gillette razor. Didn't know it was from France. Thought it was from the US!!
Actually it depends on the commodity that you would be purchasing. Countries have specialised themselves in particular set of commodities viz. Cars - Germany, Italy... Leather - Italy... Wine & Perfume - France... Electronics - Japan, Korea, Taiwan. So if i have to generalize them, I would go with Made In - - Japan - Germany - UK - US - Korea - Taiwan - France - Italy - India - Canada/ Australia
More or less in that order: Made in Switzerland Made in Germany Made in Japan Made in Taiwan Made in the USSR Made in India Made in Korea That's all I could think of at the moment.
They still make them ? I don't think I use any of these, except Bic (that's the pencil brand, right?).
I still look for Soviet era stuff, like binoculars, knives, etc.. Very utilitarian souvenirs, and if not abused, will last three generations. I've had two binoculars, and one camera, so far.
Are these made to be souvenirs, or are they typical consumer goods that the typical Soviet citizen would have bought/used?
The two binoculars I have were made for the Soviet Army. Then there was a Lomo camera, I guess consumer product. All still work perfectly today.
