The lack of organic ISR assets ie. UAV's with a high on station time.
Having a few fixed wing semi automomous UAV's such as the scan eagle with changeable payloads may give an independently operating ship longer range eyes.

India's main peacetime operations will involve pirates and military operations in the Middle East - nearly all of it towards the west of India. It has no chance in militarily dealing with China and it's better to deal with Chinese problems diplomatically and through military alliances.

Most of our navy assets are constantly tracking and keeping tab on almost all Chinese and pakistani submarines
Does it sound funny?
They standing by the piers and tracking them ? Yes, it sounds really funny. Ok, maybe IN uses more assets for the same tasks, but fact is french SSN has much more operational tempo
Which subs are the French tracking? Iraqi? Irani?
russians, first of all :)

ASW helicopters shortage is a major handicap for IN, the problem is HAL which has success in the rotary aircraft’s could not come with a ASW variant acceptable to IN. It’s fixation on the light term is a cause of concern. The ASW version of ALH should have been ready with some major modifications with respect to range and load. Still HAL has a fair chance as a contract for ASW helos is not yet finalised.
