Go ahead Pakistan, buy some more of old and defunct equipment like second hand fighters, scrapped US artillery, these old and very old T-55 tanks and many more.

These are good for display after a new paint and refurbishing. That will keep the public morale high. In a battle, these are minced meat within ten minutes of the battle.

These tanks, of Indian Centurian vintage are not old but rusted out hulls. But for Pakistan, it is new equipment after a minor purchase of 300, T-80 tanks from Ukaraine. Now with Ukraine at war, Pakistani spares supply has dried out, hence this T-55 purchases.

I don't understand one thing. What happened to their Al Khalid-I & II production line? And they could have bought old upgraded T-72 tanks instead of old T-55. I think it is meant for counter-insurgency operations for the paramilitary forces in FATA or NWFP.

the news seems to be true as u dont need high figh tanks on ur west borders. T-55 will serve ur purpose on defenceless innocent talibans

Nope. T-55 has 5 wheels on each side. Al-Khalid has 6.

Also, note the gap after the first wheel in the T-55. In Al-Khalid, all the wheels are evenly spaced.

Why would the Pakis have the people trained and resources used on such weapon systems it takes aways from more important roles and positions and prestige.

It seems to be a donation to the Taliban. Only a small percentage what India has did and will do much more in Afghanistan.
