Some of the SF units in India are over rated.A look at a RR operators pic who are very well trained operators and have done undercover ops than most SF units in India.

Late Aurangzebs pics in the video.

True.NSG only posting pics with fancy gadgets. While RR is fighting day in n day out in real tough scenarios.

Many of the SF units in India except Para SF have little Operational experience. RR on the other hand are a different beast all together when it comes to operational experience.

Many people here dont know how RR operates.

Local JAKLI guys attached to every unit are conducting undercover ops on a daily basis and are attached to their respective RR units.

Except Para no one is doing this in Kashmir!

Ideally SFs would NEVER be used on Indian soil, their entire mission profile is EXTERNALLY focused, only because of backwards and ignorant leadership do you see elite units being used in CT ops on Indian soil.

Weak nations fight on their borders, strong nations fight in someone else's backyard.

+ that pic of Aurangzeb's last moements is harrowing, fking legend!

++ if you actually look at a lot of these RR guys and SF operators it's astounding how many have done undercover work at least in the valley- Major Mohit Sharma, Capt Pawan etc all did it.

For god's sake, why do you use this as an opportunity to put down a damn fine unit and exceptional warriors?

NSG's job is VERY different, why is there always this need in this place to put one unit down to favour another? Why not praise ALL of them for their efforts? Or if you are going to praise just one unit, why try and do this at the expense of another?

And if you're going to insult them please do some research first.

And this is why Garuds, and MARCOs now send their guys to JK and some want to keep them out but will be the same people that claim that Garuds and MARCOs are inferior because they lack real world experience- can't win with morons like this.

We are too unstable to use SF outside of India.

Who is going to undertake cross loc raids..Marcos..Garuds?I doubt!

Same goes for North East.

And where will we use SF outside India?

In Pakistan?..i dont think any of the Indian SF are suitable for those deployments...RAW is best suited for that.

Just curious about how many countries use prolonged SF deployments overseas in hostile countries i.e. where they do not maintain any military infrastructure at all?

@abingdonboy when you say that SFs should never be used domestically, do you mean not used for prolonged deployments domestically?

In your opinion it was wrong of the Brits to use SAS during The Troubles?

Or the Spanish UOE against the Basques?

He literally put his head at stake .. for US !
We had served together in Kashmir and I can say .. Rajpal Sahab is a TEAM man who always led from front in all operation against terrorists. Highest level of Salute and Respect

Man... what sort of bullet proof helmets are these. You can see both the entry and exit of the bullet. I'm happy that the young subedar is stable. We need better helmets IMHO.

Dude an ACH can withstand 9mm from 10m . That's a standard config around the world . If anyone want's more protection then the reinforced helmet will be too heavy for such conditions. He was saved by the helmet today. And these are different helmets of PARA SF than the infantry & RR's MKU ACH. They received these helmets 3 years ago.

Hade been wearing "Patka" would he not have ended up with a mere concussion? We shouldn't follow the rest of the world's folly blindly...

I doubt that he would have merely ended up with a concussion had he been wearing a Parka. Look at the position of the primary bullet entry point and also the smaller secondary entry point besides it(bullet split??). Would the patka have provided better protection in this case?

Did the bullet in this case move within the "foam" and protect the skull? The damage seems too extensive. Coming to the default config, shouldn't the CT folks have protection for AK47's? 9mm/10mm may be useful for domestic issues in US. Not sure if they suffice here.
