Dude, you are living in fools paradise. We don't have 50 MT hydrogen bombs. At most we have 200kt- 1MT hydrogen bombs. That's what I am saying. We need 500+ bombs at the very least.

BTW, did you hear that a girl has been beheaded by a muzzie in Ranchi, jharkhand? BJP /RSS has once again proved they save and help Hindus in mysterious ways :mad2:
Sorry off topic, I dint find anything in the news regarding ranchi incident ,can you share a link?

I would be having a more interest in a weapon system that can neutralise a nuclear weapon ... After all its all sciences and reactions ... And are we immune to think that nuclear weapon explosion is the pinnacle of military use. Why not nuclear explosion containment weapons system .

And I really think the Indian mind and beliefs thinks along such ways ... And won't be surprised we are doing such already.

Obviously Pakistan will also build her own H bomb.
No, Pakistan won't for a couple of reason:
1. India currently doesn't have H-bomb according to scientists in P5;
2. For the target like Pakistan, H-bomb is overkill: India's current nuclear weapons are enough to bring unaffordable damage to Pakistan;
3. Pakistan's nuclear force can bring unaffordable damage to India as well, India's next generation nuclear weapon won't change that. The only way can change the nuclear balance between 2 country is the quantity of nuclear missiles and nuclear war system. Currently, only US and Russia have the number and the operational system, Chinese is on the way of building the system. India is still years if not decades away from starting point.
4. If India start to build a H-bomb force, Indian will immediately put themselves in the target list of each one of P5. It is good news for Pakistan.

Dude, we will need 500+ bombs to eradicate the whole of Pakistan, let alone the middle east. A H bomb at mad would destroy large parts of Karachi. That's it. Its nowhere as destructive - to the point of total eradication of pakis as you think.

We need 1000+ bombs in our disposal so that if the need be, we take out all the sponsors of porkis - from ME to Chicoms before going out.
Is this not too much? Or will we be throwing nukes again and again on vapourised place?

But who said we can't make them? o_O
We have made new HWPs, Fast Breeder Nuclear Reactors, Cancer treatment machine fy civilian purposes, ion propulsion, small reactors. So, there's no reason to believe that we can't make TNWs or miniaturise warheads for our missiles. Technologies hence being indirectly developed in civilian sector, can be used for military.
On the other hand, porkies are stuck at old position. :D

@bose you are right in assuming we might nuke the blackstone, if it comes to that. Our rivalry with pakistan is hardly national,it is civilizational:india:
It is well know that Saudia & so called Muslim Arab countries funded the Pakistani Nuke program... so in that sense they are also legitimate target ...

Oh yeah!!

Scientists of P5 can tell about all Indian weapon systems!
These stupid Chinese 50 cents trolls were debunked earlier by @warrior monk when these idiots were on the roof tops shouting Indian nuclear test failure in 1999...

There are somewhere some in securities within Chinese on India getting high technologies & Nuclear supplies from western and Russia alike... That gets reflected as we see Chinese 50 cents army unleased by their masters...

It is well known that Israel too have nuke program... It is said that they too have the H-Bomb... How many time Israel tested those nukes ?

Well India has thermonuclear weapon and it has been already accepted by rest of the countries that S1 test yield calculation was in line with the announced yield .
The Mb ( body waves) where Mb = log (A/T) + B(x,h) here A and T are the amplitude and the period measured off long-period vertical component seismic recordings in nanometers and seconds and B is a distance-dependent correction term which is a complex function of depth can be more reliably calculated by Indian scientists then westerners who were using assumption coz they had no access to site which is where the discrepancy persists and Indian scientists being near and physically present to gauge the surface geology and geometry of the test area
The surface wave calculation Ms which is a given by Xa +Xb log10 Y= Mb where Xa and Xb are geology dependent variables which are specific to Indian test site and cannot be correlated with other sites.
The Mb ( Body waves) and Ms ( surface waves ) calculation shows that the yield is correct with less than 5 % error .

.
2) India's post shot radioactive calculations have been submitted to Western countries for verifications and till date no one has even refuted it . thermonuclear weapons's yields are calculated by the number of reactions of D and T and the number of 14Mev neutrons used to produce that yield . The calculations of Mn, Na, Co, Sc isotopes in the aftermath.
D+T ---- He + 1n + 17.5 MeV

upload_2015-12-18_18-32-59.png

India's calculations yields are 50 kt +/- 5kt in the radio chemical analysis for the fusion in which more than 30 kt came from second stage . The primary stage fission yield was calculated by the total number of fissions (TF) was obtained by integrating the gamma products and the number of fission obtained and the energy from fission subtracted from total yield gives fusion yield .

3) More complex calculations have also been done to verify the yield the nature of which have not been provided due to secrecy involved

4) India is creating DARHT and ICF ( inertial confinement of fusion) facilities
I have already wrote about those facilities in this forum
ICF --http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/threads/developments-by-india-in-icf-for-future-thermonuclear-experimentation.74318/

DARHT -http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/threads/paki-darht-up-should-india-nuclear-test-again.71885/

These facilities especially ICF which is used for simulating thermonuclear reaction wouldn't have been created if India didn't have the actual weapon .

Which proves that INDIA HAS THERMONUCLEAR WEAPONS.

S Asian peoples are highly emotional. If either India or Pakistan were to do something spectacular the other would follow suit immediately claiming to be be doing better.

India has moved beyond Pakistan long ago... India has moved along from 90’s when we have to put our country’s gold reserve as a mortgage against loans taken them… There is a valid reason for Chinese 50 cents trolls getting uncomfortable with India’s economic growth…

India wants to be in different league now and hunger to take its rightful place in world community…

To Indians Pakistan is a dead donkey…

A normal nuclear bomb has a yield of 50-200KT. A H- Bomb would have a yield of 1-10MT. So , H bomb is just 20 times more powerful than Nuclear bomb. But, even this 20% more yield is not enough to destroy the amount of land you think it will destroy.

For example, the domb dropped on nagasaki during WW2 was 30KT yield and it killed 80000 people. So even 50 times that yield , .is 2MT H bomb would at max kill 4,000,000 population. Porkis. Have a pop of 240 million. And among that 240 million , most of them live in villages and so you will need even more dispersed nukes to cover.

So for wiping out porkistan , we need 500+ bombs atleast

Hiroshima estimate is 17!kiloton
Nagasaki estimate is 21 kiloton

Indian nuclear arsenal should be focused on China.

Conventional war-heads tipped on our strategic missiles are enough to punish Pakistan and stop them existing as a nation. If we do not have such conventional capability then we must invest in it.

Being a small country as compare to India Pakistan should be our experimental specimen how we can tactically defeat them without throwing planet busters at them. A challenging task must be put forth to our military minds to develop flexible punitive blue print (without water-downing our current nuclear doctrine) to defeat Pakistan. Applying such blue print during a war with Pakistan will position India as formidable military power that will tremble its future adversaries for next decades to come.

Being on defense forum I expect posters to be good Indian defense watcher. I was sad to see no one @Yusuf (including me) discussed recent 3 command meet presided by PM Modi at INS Vikramaditya where such warfare of swift and tactical imprint has already been stressed upon by the Prime minister and Defense minister.

Link 1

Link 2

He also called for “jointness at the top” and for senior military commanders to have a wide range of experience while stressing on the need for developing capabilities to win swift wars as the “the luxury of long-drawn battles” will not be there in the future.
“Above all, we look to our Armed Forces to prepare for the future and it cannot be achieved by doing more of the same, or preparing perspective plans based on outdated doctrines and disconnected from financial realities,” he said.
“We need military commanders who not only lead brilliantly in the field, but are also thought leaders who guide our forces and security systems into the future.

“We should learn from the experience of others, but must frame our systems and commands by our own genius,” said Modi.
Coming back to topic:

Nuclear weapons are very precious and at the end it will be USA, Russia and UK et al that will come after us seeing our depleted numbers; to de-nuke. As long as their is ambiguity with the numbers, India can always tell them to fuck off.

As it has been said umpteen times; discussion on yield is futile, the focus should be on foolproof delivery and reducing reaction time. These two are most daunting tasks which requires addressing large number of issues from military exercises, networking, upgrading military installations, making and preparing cities for nuclear war, protecting assets of strategic importance and last but not least political decision.

Another propaganda material by westerners , we use lithium deuteride as staged secondary fuel for creation of tritium and we use beryllium and polonium as neutron initiators and tritium gas in our plutonium pit in our boosted primary.
Agreed, but don't we need the U235 in the tamper-pusher?
U 235 is being enriched for SSBN/SSGN cores and Aircraft carrier cores . India will make 12 SSBNs and SSGNs in the next 15 years and our future aircraft carriers will be nuclear fueled so these are for them.
India has enough litium deuteride for 100s of thermonuclear weapons enough to glass Asia .
Obtaining raw materials is a big problem for us. Yes we do have enough for the first strike but almost nothing for the second strike. The way India sees itself, independent and strong, it would need to have the capability to nuke China, America if necessary and some of Europe. Of course, it is the delivery vehicles which get us there. But at the end, the MIRVs have to pack th punch too.
Do you think India can scale up to 500s in say, 30-40 years?
