Colombo: Sri Lankan army chief Lt Gen Jagath Jayasuriya is on a six-day visit to Pakistan to enhance military ties between the two countries.
Jayasuriya is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
Besides meeting top Pakistani military basses, Jayasuriya will visit several other places of military and tourist interest.
Kayani, who visited Sri Lanka in January last year, had invited Jayasuriya to visit Pakistan as a gesture of goodwill and long-lasting relations that exist between the two armies, Sri Lankan Army said.
