Pakistan Army Chief Kayani visits Sri Lanka: Breaking News

Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is due to undertake a three day visit to Sri Lanka starting from 27th of this month.

This will be his second visit as he previously visited Sri Lanka in January 2011.

During his stay in Sri Lanka, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will meet the top military leadership of the country. He will also hold discussions on matters of professional interests with Sri Lanka Defence Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

General Kayani will review the Passing out Parade at Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa on 28th June 2013 as the Chief Guest.

The visit of Pakistan's Army Chief will provide both sides an opportunity to review ongoing cooperation and collaboration, and to discuss ways to further broaden and deepen this relationship.

A get together of Pakistan Staff College and National Defence University's qualified officers is being arranged during the visit of General Kayani to provide opportunity to the Sri Lankan alumni of these prestigious Pakistani Institutions to interact with Pakistan's Army Chief.

General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is Pakistan's 14th Army Chief and is noted for his patience, diligence, intelligence and determination. He was commissioned in an Infantry Battalion on 29 August 1971 and joined the famed Baloch Regiment. He has been holding the appointment of the Chief of Army Staff since November 2007.

Since independence, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have consistently maintained close, cordial and mutually supportive relations especially in the field of defense. This relationship is likely to grow in coming years.

Every Pakistani COAS in his return flight from Colombo would be dreaming of repeat of chronology of events of 1999.

Last one ended in 2008.

And there is a saying that, no matter how difficult the situation is, life finds a way.

Similarly, for Pakistan

No matter how difficult are the terms and condition of Kerry-Lugar Bill, Marshal law will still find a way in Pakistan.

Though the last attempt with Tahir Ul Qadri failed.

But, there will be next.

Good for Kiyani.

Everyone, including a hardworking General, back officing the running of the Govt, requires a welcome break!

I just hope that Nawaz Sharif does not do a 'Musharraf' on him, when he is on the flight back to Pakistan.

SL visits have not been lucky for a serving Pakistani Chief of the Army.

Nawaz Sharif in interested in prosecuting Musharraf, so he will not touch Kiyani. In any case there is no reason to touch Kiyani. The Pakistan army is not in a position to conduct a coup like they did under Musharraf. 100,000 men are fighting in the west and morale is in a shambles with a lot of Pashtuns having deserted. The Pakistan army rank and file was mainly Pakistani Punjabis (Pakjabis) and Pasthuns.

LOL!

Judging by the way 10 mountaineers were killed - includiing three sweeter than honey Chinese brothers, and the Shia massacre a few days ago, nobody really knows who is running Pakistan.

It is a recorded thing. When Pakistan and India were to become Independent, on 14th of Aug 1947 before midnight, The aries sign was rising on horizon and people as eminent as Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan adivsed Chacha Rangila to postpone the declaration of Independence by 7 days as the nation would have been born under KalSarpa Yog which will retard its progress by a period of 50 yrs. A nation born under Aries sign ruled by Mars will die of internal strifes and wars and will always be under the spell of warring people. Pakistan was born under that sign. Chacha Rangila refused to accept it as He wanted to be PM before Jinnah. After lot of pursuation Chacha Rangila accepted midnight as the birth of India. So we accepted the midnight as the time when the new born nation came under Tauras acscendent. That wud place us under a low growth rate for 50 yrs and also make people who write right to left and who are malecchas in charge of this nation. As Saturn will than bcom our main planet being lord of 9th and 10th house of the horoscope. We became a force in the world after Y2K crisis in the world exactly after 50yrs of our Independence. The nation achieved a growth rate of over 5% only after 1998. Now we are in 2013. After another one year the malecchas and people who write from right to left will cease to become a factor in Indian politics. This is astrology for you all from a man who is a retd Fighter pilot from IN, BSc Physics and also a Brahmin who knows astrology which is a perfect science. The days of Pakistan are over and the muslims of this part of the world will revert back to Hinduism.

Do you really believe in this all.

meanwhile pakistan had a better growth rate than india for the first 50 years.PKR had better value than INR till 1996.Pakistan had a higher per capita than india till 2008,Pakistan growth rate 1980-92 was average 5.9%.

Pakistan average growth rate since 47 to 2011 is 4.7% compared to india 5.1%(index mundi)

About the bold part.i am not sure whether those converted muslims of south asia(more than 90% of them are in india and bangladesh) will accept this..you should ask Akbar owaisi about this.

SRI LANKA ARMY SEEKS TRAINING IN PAKISTAN

The Sri Lankan army has sought more training opportunities for Sri Lankan officers in Pakistan, in addition to ongoing training programs, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday.

This was discussed when visiting Pakistan Army Chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani met his Sri Lankan counterpart, General Jagath Jayasuriya at the Army Headquarters.

"The meeting also explored avenues of receiving more and more training opportunities for Sri Lankan officers in Pakistan, in addition to ongoing training programmes," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Discussions between both army chiefs centered largely on military matters of mutual and training interest and possibilities for further enhancing bonds of goodwill and cooperation.

Participation in the Sri Lanka Army's Defense Seminar, higher education programs in the two countries and Sri Lanka's military exercise 'cormorant' were among other matters that were discussed.

The discussions also focused on possibilities of broadening bilateral understanding and goodwill among officers of both organizations further, the army said.

The request comes as Sri Lanka was forced to withdraw two army officers undergoing training in the southern Tamil Nadu state in India.

The Sri Lanka army had turned down an offer by India to train two Sri Lankan officers at another location as opposed to the Defense Services Staff Course (DSSC) in Wellington in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The two officers who were following the Defense Services Staff Course (DSSC) in Wellington, India returned prematurely this week following stiff opposition in Tamil Nadu to the training given to them.

Several Sri Lankan army officers were turned back from training in Tamil Nadu due to protests from Tamil political parties who regard the training extended to Lankan military in the state as an act in derogation of Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Please note that the only time Pakistan did well was during Ayub's.

Do indicate how Pakistan was for 50 years ahead of India.

And why is Pakistan in such a mess today?

They still beg around as before for anything and everything and yet, they are practically a failed State!

Why are they in such a mess?

It is a good thing Pakistan will train SL Officers.

The result is known as to what will happen to S:L.

Who is your Chief of the Army at present?

SL doesn't have much of a choice after its service personnel had to be evacuated from India due to compulsions of regional politics.

But Pak is a fool's choice.

Even China, UK, Australia or Japan would have made lot more sense.

When you get trained by defeatists & born losers, that it what you become (slaves/wh**e like Pakis).
