Yes, it would be based on the new TATA's impact design. The front grille will have a humanity line and also have a honeycomb mesh grille. The headlamps will be pulled back and will have daytime running LEDs integrated in them.
I meant whether it would be based on TATAs new AMP (Advanced Modular Platform)

I heard the Hexa was having a sluggish sales performance (especially compared to its competitors) despite the trends being positive.
Well TATA is selling nearly 1000-1200 Hexas per month as of April 2016, starting from January onwards, which is good for a non-japanese car manufacturer with a car of this size. The point to be noted here is that, Toyota at the same point is selling 6000-7000 Innovas per month. But that is Toyota with a car that has proven its reliability for more than 15 years.

The Q501/502 will be based on the one of the TATA's AMP though, surely they will want to integrate the hatchbacks and future possible sedans and facelifts with the AMP, this will not just bring down the cost of spares but also the commonality between the components.

The thing TATA is not doing right is that it is not improving its image in the after sales department. They need to improve their image considerably on that front, because now people are starting to see TATA's potential.

Yes but that's in a much lower price band, doesn't Maruti sell something like 10,000 hatchbacks a month?
Maruti is selling over 16000 Balenos per month, over 15000 Dzires per month, over 18500 Alto 800 per month, over 15000 swift per month, over 12000 Wagon R a month, over 10000 Vitara Brezza a month. :scared1::scared1::smash::smash:

But after Maruti and Hyundai, its TATA's Tiago which is one of the highest seller in its segment. My father was going to buy a Tiago, but ended up buying a Baleno, I guess keeping the aftersales and resale value in mind.

BTW @abingdonboy @aditya10r here is the Overdrive's rendering of what TATA's premium Hatch might look like, FYI, it would be a further evolution of Nexon :-

Note:- these are just artist rendering of the speculated car, expect the car to look something like TATA's Nexon.

Hexa was launched just at the start of this year .. Hope it was typo you were mentioning April 2017 not 2016 ..

@aditya10r Tata motors did bring this luxury sedan concept way back in 2009 to motor show..

Yeah but it remained a concept. Nothing really was came out of it apart from, I guess, a little resemblance to TATA Indigo Manza. Although, within wraps, it is rumoured that after x451 hatchback and Q501/502 SUVs, next up would be a premium sedan (a Altis, Civic, Elantra segment or CIty, Verna segment).

Oh, yeah, its April 2017, my bad sorry. :frusty:
BTW, that is what I meant to say, its sales started from January onwards and even if an SUV/MUV is selling 1000 pieces initially, it isn't so bad afterall. The real sales will start after an year or so, ones people have realised that it is a strong contender and a reliable one too.
