Many countries are licensed to upgrade F-16s like Turkey,Belgium etc....Many of them produce spares too

No orders,there are 3200 F-16's in the world and with F-35s coming,many countries will buy the old F-16s.No one wants to buy new ones

Mr. Modi cannot be greased.He is true nationalist.But he may be getting misled by some babus. There is no reason that on one hand we are truly jointly developing FGFA with Russia and on the other hand will settle for some screwdriver assembly for 70's fighter

Look at this....most of supplier base will remain in America...TATA will assemble kits like HAL has done for decades..also about Pakistan- there are several licensed service centres around the world,like Turkey,Italy etc..Pak will get spares and even upgrades

100-150 F-16 means 100-150 less Tejas.Why can't TATA assemble Tejas instead of imported American kits? Not to mention the issue of commonality with other planes in the inventory.

Most people will be happy that F-16 will be "made in India" and miss the bigger picture...... and praise Modi for this stupid decision

F-16 in India will be pure license assembly,even worse than Su-30 MKI and there are various service centres for F-16s around the world-Italy,Turkey etc.There will be no "ToT".If the RFI is geniuine(it can be cancelled if it is just for show) then only Gripen has a realistic chance.
