RIP.

Are the fire-suppression systems that recently malfunctioned aboard the Sindhuratna and this Kolkata-class destroyer domestic or imported?

Long live this brave warrior and his memory!!!

Do not believe anything in the media. They are gossip mongers. Accidents in 30,000 men Indian navy would happen. Some are human errors and some are equipment failures.

Only a few days back a Canadian ship caught fire in the Pacific Ocean. It had to be towed. Four European sailors died last year in a NATO exercise accident. Number of dead sailors in a friendly fire during multinational exercises number in hundreds in last twenty years. Two of American nuclear submarines and three Russian nuclear Submarines have sunk with crew numbering a thousand both American and Russian were dead. An American aircraft carrier caught fire off the coast of Vietnam and fighter jets had to be pushed off its deck to save a bigger explosions. Hundreds of sailors were dead. The aircraft carrier had to be finally scuttled. So do not go too much concerned about accidents. Indian Navy of late has begun to operate highly sophisticated hardware, hence they may or may not be fully trained.

All the above are mostly human errors. A few places these accidents happen due to equipment failure.

These days in India; a mountain is made of mole hill. Reasons: the arms dealers are glad to spread the rumor of equipment failure of the adversary hardware supplier, media relies mostly on gossip of Arnab Goswami or Shiv Aroor or Ajay Shukla. They have already concluded even before the court of enquiry has begun. Former Admirals of the Indian navy are championing one cause or the other and are glad to join the media with their take of the incident. They can say everything to which they do not have to be responsible.

Very pitiful!!!

Was the CO2 leak from a fire-suppression system? I thought such systems used Halon. There is another thread on this accident and I believe the officer was killed by mechanical injury.

Given that someone from your beloved INS died here, one would imagine you to behave in a slightly less trollish manner...

that is our probelm, still we can laugh on stuff imported from china
