Size of IN ships

I have been noticing lately that IN ships are pretty huge, but less equipped for their size. For eg. Saryu Class ,Kamorta Class, Shivalik Class......these are some of the largest OPV,Corvettes and Frigates resp. in the World, but with limited arnaments. Lately i was looking at Israel's Saar 5 Class Corvettes . They have managed to fit in 8 Anti-ship missiles,64 Anti-Air missiles along with Torpedo tubes all in that limited 1200 tons. Anyone has any explanation for this?

may be range and surveying capability is more. not sure.
