New uprated version of the WS-10!

Possibly the WS-10B since it has the gearbox at the bottom and is therefore intended for the J-10.

The J-20 might be using a Chinese engine but not the WS-15 so that leaves the WS-10.

Probably a version of the above.

The J-20 is a locally made fifth-generation stealth fighter jet which uses a Chinese engine," military expert Yin Zhuo confirmed in a telephone conversation with CCTV on Nov 1.

"The WS-15 turbofan engine is now under development, which will improve the performance of the J-20 after becoming operational," Yin said.

According to the various chinese chatroom posts (including people who had talked to representives at the Zhuhai exhibits), the WS-10G is between the AL-31/WS-10A at 132kn and the WS-15 at 180kn so possibly at 145-150kn as a conservative estimate.

BTW, AECC is the new super company comprising over 100,000 employees who is now tasked with developing engines. It is expected to be a game changer. Top PLAAF brass visited their booth at Zhuhai this week. Dawn of a new age.

This is the Chinese IL-76 testbed that is testing the WS-20 (and had tested WS-10 before.)

This is a J-11 testbed that has WS-10 in one nacelle and AL-31 in another!
