The Corps of Signals motorcycle rider display team, popularly known as the "Dare Devils", established three more world records today on Ridge Road and Robert Track in the Jabalpur Cantonement area.

Continuing with their tradition, the team achieved their latest feats of daredevilry under the leadership of Captain Abhayjit Mehlawat.

The team has captured the hearts of spectators by performing in mega events like the Republic Day Parade, the Army Day Parade, the ASIAD, the SAF and the Afro-Asian Games.

The team has many world records to its credit, the most famous being the "Largest Human Pyramid of 251 men on 11 motorcycles, which was established on June 11, 2008 in Jabalpur.

The extraordinary thrilling display was shown in front of a large audience, which included senior Army officers and several eminent dignitaries The Chief Justice of the Jabalpur High Court, the mayor and police chief of the city were among those present.

Two high court judges-Justices Rajendra Menon and A K Srivastava certified the records as fit to be included in the Limca Book of Records and the Guinness Book of World Records.

The first event was performed by a team led by Capt. Abhayjit Mehlawat himself, where they broke the existing record of Liu Jichun of China.
The earlier record established by the Chinese was of the longest hands-free riding on a zigzag track of 5,320 m. Capt. Mehlawat, in an extraordinary display of courage and self determination, covered a distance of 16000 metres; moving hands free on a difficult zigzag track.

The second record successfully achieved was the fastest human pyramid of ten men on two motorcycles.

The earlier record was established by British Army Corps of Signals, established on March 12, 2009, wherein eight persons on two motorcycles covered a distance of one kilometer in in 01 min 38.77 seconds. The team smashed the world record by covering a distance of 01 KM with 10 men on two motorcycles in 54 seconds.

The team further went on to break one of their own world records of 28 men on three motorcycles, covering a distance of 01 KM in 66 seconds without using any supporting equipment. The team, this time, covered the distance in 60 seconds with 30 men on three motorcycles.

This moto called Bullet in India has been the fav. It had a punchline, "Let the boys have their toys, In a man's world, It takes a man's bike-Bullet. I owned it for over 15 years. Nothing comes close to it in riding comfort and what a great sound of the engine!!!
It is a heavy bike and many small guys can't even start it by kicking it. I used to do wheely on it which is nearly impossible on a four stroke single cylinder bike. My bike was confiscated three times by my CO for over speeding and stunts as he said that Indian Navy had spent a lot of money on me to be a Fighter Pilot Pilot and getting killed doing stunts is the best way to lose that investment.
But the fault lies with Tom Cruise and TOPGUN Movie. I watched it with my daughter who too is a pilot now a few days back and she was shocked to see that I knew each and every dialogue. Well 1980s were the TOPGUN mania.
