Afghan SF is a completely different beast. Their night raids and constant long deployments in enemy territory put them toe to toe in fact above most SF's in the world in terms of mission efficiency and combat experience.Along with SSG training.but against afghan SF these guys are gonna falter
China has clearly chosen its side and thats the Taliban. We all saw Taliban leaders meetiing with Chinese FM and now China providing weapons and gear to the Taliban.Every single piece of equipment you see in the above pictures are from china. It seems chinese have now start to pour serious money and equipment into taliban.
What can we do?China has clearly chosen its side and thats the Taliban. We all saw Taliban leaders meetiing with Chinese FM and now China providing weapons and gear to the Taliban.
And India? still in muddy waters...no clear cut policy on Afghanistan.
If Taliban comes to power than we can say goodbye to our influence and goodwill on Afghanistan. Last time Taliban was in power one of our Aeroplane got hijacked. What can we do?
The bulk of our army is deployed against china. To sustain our current deployments against the chinese we had to sign a ceasefire with pakistan as the cost of maintaining two hot borders in form of men material and money was too much for us to bear.
This combined with the factor that we share no border with Afghanistan leaves us with few choices to influence afghanistan.
I doubt whether any meaningful progress will be made without large collateral damage. Islamic militias have been known to use "civilian" population as cover. Quite a few of the civilians themselves are hardcore supporters. If things go as per plan, soon some more advanced defence systems from India will land in Afghanistan. This may include anti aircraft missiles to mine protected vehicles etc.
The change is slow but sure.I doubt whether any meaningful progress will be made without large collateral damage. Islamic militias have been known to use "civilian" population as cover. Quite a few of the civilians themselves are hardcore supporters.
Islamists use terror and indoctrination to ensure compliance from civilians. They also excel at showing collateral damage as war crimes by those they are fighting against.
Unless those opposing Islamists are willing to swallow the bitter pill of large collateral damage, they may not stand a chance.
Looks like they are creating a scenario(real or a red herring) for resumption of hostilities against India and Indian interests within Afghanistan and beyond.
