The video is interesting. That Captain Shekhar was so polite to the dipshit wanker Brit interviewer is very much to his credit.

Had some German joked about the Holocaust the same way, a Jewish interviewee would have punched him in the face.

Germans gassed Jews to death for less than a decade while the Brits drowned, starved, beat, stabbed, shot, trampled, impaled, hanged and blown Indians to death for over two hundred years.

It is funny that the British think they are some ultra benevolent, heaven's gift to mankind, Chuck Norris descendants. They don't realize they were our fuvking Nazis and they are mighty proud of it.

That would be Jeremy Paxman, he is like marmite, you either like him or you don't! I find it entertaining when he's grilling politicians on newsnight!

Yes, the Brits were cnuts and what they did to the Indian sub continent was wrong!

What about the maharajas that sold out to the British?

The British came up with a system to buy local soldiers! Why did Indian soldiers join?

Why did it take centuries for the British to finally leave India? (They were not kicked out IMO) Why didn't Indians kick them out earlier?

Strange how the land that produced warriors such as Arjun was invaded time and time again for centuries!

Country flag
you are absolutely right if we can question the role of the soldiers of the British Indian Army, then what about the Rajput Kings who joined forces with the Mughals and fought against fellow Indians under the banner of the Mughal Kings.

For those interested, here is the full series called "Empire" by Jeremy Paxman. The first video from 3:00 onwards is interesting, apparently the Europeans divided the world between them and the Brits got India! Not sure how historically accurate the series is!

A specious argument at best. What was being discussed was the brutality of the British and the Germans. You could day that the British were guilty of genocide during the Bengal famine when hundreds of thousands died.

You could also say that some of the Jews collaborated with the Germans - that does not justify what happened to the Jews when hundreds of thousands died.

Did you miss the first line of my post on purpose? If you think I am defending what the British did to India, you are highly mistaken.

I am just trying to understand how they managed to keep a tight grip on India for 200 years? And why some Indians sold out to the British, surely they deserve some of the blame!

lol did anyone watch all those shitty propaganda videos ?!
:hail: I bow to you oh wise Koovie, your post is supeeer impressive!

How about you chomp on lol (leg of lamb or maybe lots of lollipops is more up your street) if you don't have anything constructive to add?

Maybe you would be gracious enough to give a detailed analysis of the propaganda parts and write to Jeremy Paxman and correct him, I would be happy to provide the postal address for you!
