This is laughable, so the entire article is completely based of guesses and conjecture.
Opening line: We have no information about Indias nuclear programme..this is so bad, India does talk about anything
Keep crying.
Myth -1: India's minimum deterrence is a myth.
According him what is minimum towards china is not minimum towards Pakistan hence it is a myth. Sheer stupidity of this statement.... minimum deterrence is basically minimum requirement to keep India safe *not* minimum vs an individual country. The author goes on for a good 3 pages using this moronic logic.
Myth-2: Indians nukes are not mated
Cant comment on the technical stuff, apart from that he does some guesswork about the weapons moving towards a ready to use mated state, and then scare mongers about accidental use, despite knowing nothing about fail safes and measures inside, at teh very end
The state of these features is largely unknown in the public domain.
But he will write a lot about how these are unsafe.
Myth-3: India's NFU
I couldnt care less if we had a NFU or not. If not having one deters enemies from doing bad things then okay it's totally fine. the NFU is slightly ambiguous for a reason.
''However, in the event of a major attack against India, or Indian forces anywhere, by biological or chemical weapons, India will retain the option of retaliating with nuclear weapons.''
This is sheer stupidity, any country when faced with major attacks will be angry and want to attack back, this guy seems to expect different special, parameters for India
His second "reason' is even more laughable:
In the event of a war India would want to neutralize the nuclear capabilities of the other nation, and attack them, thee may trigger an nuke explosion within that country and hence India used nukes first.
Myth-4: Political Leaders Determine India's Nuclear Posture
Again more scare mongering, It's pretty obvious that nuclear policies will have to involve everyone and politicians are definetly not experts on security and other areas and will rely on advice from people who know better, and the decisions will be collective. He then goes on to try and make it look as if drdo is a rowdy and does what it wants. On the basis of one report that says the agni-6 missile has not been sanctioned but they are doing some preliminary research work lol...the govt had not officially sanctioned mangalyaan until one before the launch, but had sanctioned a study of it's feasibility 1 year before it's official launch. Does this guy really want to the govt to telegraph every one of it's single moves for him ?
Myth-5: India's Nuclear Infrastructure is Secure
Again .."I have no info, but hey it is possible that it is insecure" but at the end:
None of these questions is intended to implicate the security architecture India may or may not have erected to protect its nuclear assets. It is, however, remarkable how little attention these questions receive in the public domain
Yes lets just put our security details in the public domain because that will make it more secure. Is this guy just plain retarded.
