    I was familiar with Garand in ROTC as a rifle for drill, and could easily see the M14 similarity in function to the Garand M1. Grand was clip-fed and fired .30-06 ammo; M14 had 20 round magazine and fired 7.62 NATO.

    I will say M-14 because I qualified with the weapon in US Army basic training. I am familiar with FAL and G3 and would also rate them highly, although have not qualified with them.

    ^^ He shoots at a 100 yard target with a benchrest, gets a 2 - 3" group with those two weapons, and says he can therefore hit a man-size target at 350 yards. He should rather run 100 yards with either weapon and then engage a man-size silhouette at 350 yards. :-)
