So we have ->

a. Proxy war between Shia-Sunni in Yemen
b. Proxy war between Shia-Sunni in Syria/Iraq
c. Al Qaida takeover of Libya plus destabilization of entire North Africa
d. War in Ukraine

What is remaining - war in South China sea - to complete this picture.

2015 turning out to be an interesting year.

Iran-Backed Militants Setting up Missile Sites at Yemen University

Dhamar University–where the Houthi jihadists are allegedly setting up their missile sites–is the largest university in Yemen.
Saudi Brigadier General Ahmed Asiri told reporters yesterday that the Houthis were utilizing the inhumane, guerilla tactics in order to keep their hold on power. The Houthis are using residential houses "as hideouts and stores for their equipment, and sometimes installing anti-aircraft equipment on top of civilian buildings to attract the alliance to bombard them and commit killing of innocents," Gen. Asiri told the Saudi Press Agency.

Some observers have noted that the Houthis are adopting tactics akin to Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas, which utilized UN buildings and residential areas to launch missile strikes against Israel last summer. During the Israel-Hamas war, the Gaza-ruling terror group also used civilians as human shields so they could launch attacks under protected conditions.

In another seemingly desperate measure, Houthi militants have allegedly released 1,800 inmates from prisons throughout Yemen, Al Arabiya reported.

Houthi officials have said they will continue to battle the 10-member Sunni coalition and try to maintain control over Sanaa.

"If Saudi Arabia continues its aggressions against the oppressed Yemeni people, [Houthi] fighters will pave the way for the Saudi regime's destruction by conducting martyrdom-seeking operations inside Saudi Arabia in the coming hours," a top Houthi official told Iran's state-run Fars News Agency.

Arab leaders have pledged that the ongoing air campaign against the Houthis will continue until the Iran-backed group withdraws and surrenders.

The 10-country coalition's campaign–codenamed Operation "Decisive Storm– seeks to reinstall Yemen's internationally-recognized President, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, back into power.

Nice ....
Two salient points:
a) Keep an eye on Pak military .... any new shiny toys means they have been bankrolled by House of Saud.
b) As soon as sanctions are off from Iran , we should fill in the economic vacuum before China.

Meanwhile, I have my cardamom tea with chocolate chip cookies ready .... enjoy the blood bath

Re: Yemen Shia-Sunni Clashes

So we have Shia-Sunni conflict setting at "max". This round is won by Sunni as Shia firepower is low. Shia have numbers in Yemen but heavy firepower is missing.

However never under-estimate the lowly automatic rifle. If bomb can take a life, the rifle can too. An automatic rifle is a very potent weapon, and there are too many of these floating in the world today. There may be around 150 million automatic rifles in armed forces or in private hands. These rifles are enough to kill a lot of people.

The ground invasion of Saudi is awaited in Yemen which may result in large scale deaths.

It is interesting that Saudi are following the American tactics used earlier in Gulf war 2.

Re: Yemen Shia-Sunni Clashes

there was news that said that Turkey is the leader and most powerful Sunni nation and Saudi are paying other to fight for them ... only a thought but does that not make the Pakis want take control of Saudi Arabia - coup d'etat of the leadership

deep down the Pakis must want to take this by the neck and squeeze it to legitimize their role of having the nukes and support of the two nation theory along with protecting Mecca and getting the respect and importance they want in the region

deep down the Pakis must be thinking this is a chance for them to get over their uncomfortable situation(s) of recent past ... yet sometimes one never knows if it will be good and bad until much later

Nawaz and Musharraf must be working together on this

Such items brings such people together

US navy joins Saudi Arabia in airstrikes against Yemen

The US navy has reportedly joined Saudi Arabia's fighter jets in the airstrikes against Yemen.Military sources have told Russian media that US warships took part in Monday's assault against Yemenis. The sources said American ships launched a cruise missile on a strengthened missile brigade. The airstrike began after Saudi warplanes failed to hit the Ansarullah movement's weapons depots. This is the first announcement of a collaboration between the U-S military and Saudi Arabia in the attack on Yemen. U-S president Barack Obama expressed his support of the assault on the people of Yemen one day after the airstrikes began last Thursday.

Russian consulate in Aden damaged by coalition airstrikes – Yemen embassy source

The Russian Consulate General in the Yemeni sea port of Aden has been damaged during airstrikes launched by the Saudi-led military coalition against the Houthi rebels, said a source in the Russian embassy in Yemen.

"There is not a single intact window left," the source told Sputnik.A possibility of consulate closure and the evacuation of Russian nationals is currently under review, the source added.

Earlier on Wednesday a Russian plane charted for the evacuation of Russian citizens caught in the conflict had been diverted to Cairo, after the coalition denied it landing in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

The evacuation has now been delayed until Thursday, when the chartered flight "accompanied by two other aircraft" is expected to arrive in Sanaa, according to a source of Russian daily Kommersan. In addition to Russians, the aircraft will also help to evacuate the citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the source added.

On Wednesday, Houthi rebels have reportedly take control of the Presidential residence in Aden after violent clashes that killed 15 and injured dozens.

"Houthis have taken control of the presidential residence, clashes are taking place around the residence between Houthis and armed groups that support President Hadi. Civilians who have answered the call of [Yemeni] Foreign Minister Riyadh Yaseen to protect the city and restore control over the residence are also taking part in the clashes," a local source told Sputnik.

According to reports in the Yemeni Hun Aden, the factions clashing in Aden have also looted the Russian consulate building. Citing eyewitnesses, the agency claims the attackers seized documents and office equipment and took them to an unknown destination.

When contacted by TASS, the Russian Embassy in Sanaa did comment on the situation in Aden, saying only that over the last few days the diplomatic mission had been "working in emergency mode."

Meanwhile Egypt has begun the evacuation of its citizens from Yemen either through border crossings or by sea in a coordinated effort with Oman and Saudi Arabia, the country's foreign ministry said. India, in the meantime, sent a vessel "into barrage of bombs" in Aden, to evacuate 349 of its nationals to Djibouti and then fly them back home.

Last week, five Gulf states and Egypt launched a series of airstrikes against the Shia Houthi rebels, who had gained control of the capital and large swathes of territory in the west of the country. In addition Jordan, Sudan, Morocco and Pakistan declared their willingness to participate in the military effort. Neighboring Saudi Arabia, has taken full control of the country's air and sea ports, purportedly to prevent the inflow of weapons from abroad.

Re: Yemen Shia-Sunni Clashes

The Great War For The Middle East

Our form of democracy is bribery, on the highest scale;

It makes no difference who Americans vote for- the two parties (property parties) are really one party representing four percent of the people – quotes from (late) Gore Vidal.

The planning for conquest of the Middle East started with the end of the Vietnam War in April 1975. America, under neo-conservative economic and political guidance, disengaged from Indochina for the engagement process in the Middle East. After some setbacks and time lags, the Great War for the Middle East has started with connivance from the Gulf Arab monarchies. For America and its proxy Israel, the biggest setbacks have come from China and Iran.

The Shah of Iran and his monarchy crumbled on that eventful day of February 1, 1979 when Khomeni returned to Tehran to be welcomed by a tumultuous crowd chanting "Islam, Islam, Khomeni, we will follow you". Khomeini preached that revolt against injustice and tyranny was part of Shia Islam, and that Muslims should reject the influence of both liberal capitalism and communism with the slogan "Neither East, nor West – Islamic Republic!" Khomeni, portrayed by the US as evil, was lauded for his humility by Robert Fisk in his book "The Great War for Civilization and the Conquest of the Middle East."

"Shia Revival: How Conflict Within Islam will Shape the Future" was published in 2006 by Iranian born Vali Nasr, an American academic specializing in the Middle East and Islam. Vali Nasr is currently the Dean of the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Chapters 7 -9 (Iraq: The First Shia Arab State; The Rise of Iran and The Battle for the Middle East) make up the most interesting reading. Vali Nasr's assessments are being substantiated by current developments in the Middle East.

What I'm writing is not anything based upon Vali Nasr's book but substantiating his works based upon my recent three articles – P5+1 N-TALKS OUTCOME, NETAHYAHU VICTORY, SAUDI ARABIA AND IRAN and PETROCURRENCY WAR published on the websites WondersofPakistan, Countercurrents and OrientalReview, respectively in March 2015.

The American approach towards Iran is based on bribery – we will lift the UN sanctions and provide economic concessions. Both are unacceptable to Iran. Iran seeks to implement the Khomeni ideology – the revolt against injustice and tyranny that the west under the American tutelage is imposing upon Muslims under guidance of the neo-conservatives controlling the two party "democratic" property systems as one party representing four percent of the Americans. Americans are treating the Middle East as their property with help from Europeans and the Arab monarchies. The result is bound to be a massive failure but not without a war for the Middle East involving Iran, China and Russia.

What is most interesting is the American role. They may be following the British divide and rule policy or are trying to kill a few (not two) birds with one stone. Is the nature of talks with the Iranians to evaluate their military strengths or is it to withdraw the support for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf monarchies considering the extremist strategies which they've been sponsoring? CNN had reported on March 15, 2015 John Kerry stating that the US must eventually negotiate with Assad (of Syria) to remove him from power and bring the Syrian civil war to a close. Iran may agree but that would require replacing Assad with a president who'd support Iran, not otherwise. Iran has over the past five years succeeded in supporting Assad against a bunch of creepy thugs and it is difficult that they'd relent to US demands. Iranians are tough negotiators and have demonstrated this in their N-talks with Americans and the Europeans. After all, the most successful negotiators are those that give an inch and gain a mile.

The Great War for the Middle East started on March 26, 2015 as the Saudis started the bombing campaign against the Iranian backed Yemeni Houthis. The campaign involved fighter jets from five GCC monarchies, Morocco, Sudan and Jordan with naval support from Pakistan and Egypt – the 10 member Sunni coalition. However, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khwaja Asif stated that "Instead of aggravating the situation by participating in it, Pakistan should do what it can to prevent it ─ for the alliance and unity of the Muslim world." Meanwhile the United States said that it would provide military and intelligence support to the offensive against Houthi militants in Yemen. Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi stated on al-Masirah TV, saying, "If any army try to invade our country, we will prove that Yemen will be a grave for those who invade us." Iran and Iraq quickly denounced the attacks.

The coalition could also face backlashes from Shias in Pakistan, Bahrain and Kuwait which make up 20%, 55% and 25% of their populations respectively, resulting in civil wars.

The US and its allies, not discounting Israel, hope that both Shias and Sunnis will destroy themselves in this war and after a few years of massacre and bloodbath, the Middle East will finally be their prized property with its resources. It is their hope that China and Russia will both become involved. Russia has been alienated by the US in Ukraine. China's yuan has become the Achilles Heel for the US dollar and as such the American administration has to ensure that the global petrocurrency should remain the dollar. I'd mentioned in my article Petrocurrency war that Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd had told Hillary Clinton to only use force against China as a last resort. The US cannot and will not use direct force but it can and will engage China in a currency war. Where else to defeat it but in the Middle East?

The Gulf monarchies have sold their extremist ideologies to the Muslim countries, most notably Pakistan and Afghanistan which are the heartlands of injustice, oppression and tyranny against their people. In both these countries the political and justice systems have failed while the US continues to prop up the civilian governments with economic bribery while the military is engaged in fighting terrorism. Neither of the two countries seems to be willing to learn from their past follies of being vassal states. The Islamic State (IS) is also a terrorist organization purportedly supported by Saudi financing. They too have to be destroyed in the war and thus far both Iran and Iraq are proving to be a solid match for the thugs. On February 14, 2015 Iraqi forces supported by Kurdish fighters managed to push IS out of the town of Sulaiman Bek, south of Kirkuk. The IS are on the run in Iraq.

The dawn of a new Civilization will start with the end of the Great War for the Middle East – a civilization based on mankind's desire for humanity, tolerance, justice, respect and peace based upon Divine teachings. How long will the war continue? Maybe as long as 5 years but for now, the war has the potential to engulf the Muslim world in a huge ball of fire but in the end it will be an Islamic revival, not Shia revival or Sunni domination or the prized property of any other system.

Chinese military disembark in port of Aden, Yemen, to guard evacuation – official

Dozens of unidentified foreign troops reported disembarking in the port of Aden turned out to be Chinese soldiers maintaining security as an unknown party opened fire on a vessel evacuating foreign citizens, a Yemeni official told Sputnik.

He added that Chinese soldiers have already left the port, though reportedly they did not manage to take with them all the people intended to evacuate, not all of the Chinese nationals.

The city of Aden has turned into battlefield as violent street-to-street fighting between advancing Houthi rebels and pro-president troops making a stand.

The data from medics and military suggest that up to 44 people have been killed in street clashes, AFP reports.

Earlier member of the Houthi political council Daifullah Shami told Sputnik that the foreign troops in Aden disembarked from Saudi and Egyptian vessels.

"The number of troopers who landed in the Yemen port of Aden is unknown, but we are talking about dozens. They were covered by several airplanes. They disembarked from Saudi and Egyptian ships," said a member of Ansar Allah movement, Ahmad Al-Shami.

Saudi Arabian forces, joined by nine other countries, launched a military operation in Yemen against Shiite Houthi rebels in March.

The Saudi-led coalition has declared Yemeni airspace a "restricted zone."The allies also claim to control the maritime area adjoining the port of Aden, allegedly captured by the Houthis.

Ships in the region have also been urged not to approach Yemen's ports due to the ongoing military operation.

Yemen's ousted officials have requested a ground intervention to bolster the air offensive. On March 31, Saudi authorities said they had gathered troops along the border with Yemen in preparation for any possible ground offensive, according to Reuters, adding that no exact time to send the troops in has yet been stipulated.

Meanwhile, amember of the political council of the Ansar Allah group, the armed wing of the Houthi rebels, has declared as cited by RIA Novosti that in case the airstrikes of the Saudi-led coalition on the Yemeni territory continue, the Houthis will have to attack Saudi Arabia.

"We have the power for a retaliatory strike, but the decision will be made when other options are exhausted," Daifullah Shami, a member of the Houthis' Ansar Allah political council told RIA Novosti on Thursday.

If killing of innocent Yemenis continues, Houthis prefer death on the battlefield to dying in bombs strikes, Shami said, commenting on the possibility of an attack on Saudi Arabia.

Skirmishes on the Saudi-Yemeni border have already begun. One Saudi soldier has been killed and up to 10 have been wounded in shootouts, reports Al-Arabia. The firefights took place near a border check point, reports RIA Novosti.

Despite airstrikes delivered by Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies, the Houthis have been continuing their offensive against the loyalists of ousted President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who fled to Riyadh.

The Houthis captured the central district of Aden on Thursday, Reuters reported, citing residents. This southern port city remained the last stronghold of forces loyal to Saudi-backed President Hadi. Heavy fighting in the city started early in the morning and the rebels have now allegedly deployed tanks and patrols in several parts of the city.

"The victories in Aden today embarrass this campaign and silenced the aggressor states," Houthi spokesman Mohammad Abdulsalam told the group's al-Maseera TV channel. The fighting in Aden means that Saudi Arabia's military intervention has failed, the spokesman insisted late on Wednesday.

The rebels claim they now control up to 90 percent of Aden's territory, reports RIA Novosti.

The Shiite Houthi rebels, believed to be backed by Iran, are not the only non-governmental force operating in Yemen. While rebels were busy capturing the port of Aden, Al-Qaeda militants have stormed the center of the coastal city of Al-Mukalla and captured the local prison, setting free about 300 inmates, many of whom are militants, AP reported.

The port of Al-Mukalla reportedly remains under control of the jihadists who have blocked all the roads leading to the city.

The situation in Yemen in general remains chaotic, with fighter jets of the coalition inflicting airstrikes throughout the areas under control of the Houthi rebels, including the capital, Sanaa.

Though the allied Air Force target mostly military facilities, weapon depots and infrastructure, the strikes befell on civilians too. Forty-five people were killed and another 65 injured in an airstrike by a Saudi-led coalition at a refugee camp in Houthi-controlled northern Yemen on Monday, the International Organization for Migration (IMO) said.
