Not something you'd ever want to see as an Allied soldier in World War II--a diving Ju 87 Stuka.
The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was developed as a dive bomber for the Luftwaffe just prior to WWII. It was phenomenally accurate and advanced for its time--if the pilot blacked out in a 90-degree dive, the Ju 87 had an autopilot that would pull itself out of the dive. It was also a stable platform for not only diving, but later strafing runs.
Stukas (which is a contraction for "dive bomber" in German) caused havoc amongst Allied forces early in the war, but its slow speed made it dead meat against Allied fighters; the Germans used it until the end of WWII, but only in areas where they had air superiority, such as Russia.
