why next few years? Do you think PLAN in next few years will weaker than now?

many people here has no clue what China will be like in the future.....

in 2001, MR. Gordon Chang concluded CHina will collapse in 10 years.
in 2008. MR. Vladimir79 and MR. Armand here concluded that CHinese economy would collapse,because US and EU wound not buy CHinese product.....

even now, some people ,including MR. Armand, still count on the doomday of CHinese economy"..

Depends on who and where.

If USA or Russia, China will walk away.
If Japan in the sea around it, China may walk away.
If India in india ocean, China may walk away.

The difference is that China won't come into a disputed area between other countries when it has no power to back up its action in the first place.

India at this time should just wait for a stronger anti Chinese alliance to develop
the naval exercises with US and Japan may be a start? No need to venture out

With a three possibly five carrier force navy, we will do it. Read what I have written in OP. look to develop strategic ties with all the countries in the region and also form a concrete security framework which will most cotta only come up and it sure is a way to tackle the Chinese.

When the time you had 5 carrier , PLAN may have 5 also. but 5 Indian carriers = 1.5 Chinese Carriers in the size.

Am I. Who said India has to pick up a fight with China. Super powers dont fight directly. They do it by proxies. That is how it will be between India and China as both countries rise. China will get there first, but India will follow. Till then we will form alliances to keep China in check.

India is already building one carrier and two more will be built. The second and third in all probability will be in the 60,000 Tons category with catapults. Add to that Gorshkov which means four carriers. Nothing stops India from announcing more carriers as its operational situation demands.
