It surfaced because it ran out of fuel and had to recharge. India does not have AIP subs yet, thats why scorpene with AIP is so important.
Sir that pure speculation as IN has not commented.
Don't you think this was a disastrous tactical move to snorkel so close to enemy specifically when anti-sub aircraft will be on move.
If they were so desperate they should have disengaged earlier itself.

NEW DELHI: A day after Pakistan stated that it had conducted its first successful test fire of Submarine Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM) Babur-3, a satellite imagery expert has claimed that Pakistan might have faked the launch.

Raj, who claims to be a satellite imagery expert, explains on his twitter handle—@rajfortyseven—that a video showing the launch of Babur-3, which was released by the Pakistan military yesterday, is a "fake video clip" because it uses computer-generated imagery.

In his tweets, the expert has picked up scenes from the video, showing the missile's flight, and compared them with actual satellite images. The images show changes were made in the background to show that a test happened. The missile colour and speed also change after 15 seconds of the video.

The expert also pointed out that the missile flight of eight seconds covers 15 kilometres, meaning the speed works out to 6,750 kms, which is almost high hyper-sonic speed.
