Pak Govt. agrees to quit U.S.-led war against terrorism
Posted by News Desk on September 10, 2013

Islamabad, Sept. 10 (ANI): Pakistan has agreed to quit the United States-led war on terrorism and implement its own strategy to counter insurgency amid a growing demand from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former cricketer Imran Khan.

The resolution was made at the All Parties Conference (APC) held under the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday, The Nation reports.

The government announced that they will determine the means and the mode of fighting the war against terror in the national interest and shall not be guided by the U.S. or any other country, the report added.

Khan has been advocating from day one that Pakistan should disengage from the war on terror first before engaging in negotiations with the Taliban.

Earlier, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Government was finding it difficult to come out of the U.S. influence without support shown from all political parties towards the decision in Parliament. (ANI)

Like a condom going on strike. As if it has a choice.

Rewind to the weeks after the September 2001 attacks that brought down the twin towers. The US pinpointed Afghanistan as the place where the attacks were planned. India (under the Vajpayee government) offered support to the US although the nature of support was unspecified. But the US sent its muscleman Armitage (also known as Amritraj in Indian circles) to tell Musharraf to cooperate or be bombed back into the stone age. Armitage was wrong in a way because he did not know that Pakistan was already half in the stone age and wanted to get there anyway.

Anyhow Musharraf made a speech in October 2001. The speech was partly in English (for the sucker Gringo Americans to understand) and partly in Urdu for Pakistani to understand. In English he said he would cooperate in the war on terror. In Urdu, for the benefit of Pakistanis Musharraf brought up the treaty of Hudaibiya in which his prophet Mohammad reached a deal with Jews when his side was weak, but that deal was later snapped when Mohammad's forces became strong. The basic message in Urdu was that Pakistan could sorta pretend to help the US because they were being forced.

And that is exactly what they did. They helped when it was convenient even as they hid Osama bin laden for over a decade making a mockery of the US war on terror. So Pakistan quitting the war on terror is simply a joke. Someone wants some sucker in the US to sit up and pay more money

If Pakistan quits WoT, who will finance their survival as a Nation?

China won't that is for sure.

They are very thrifty and won't squander money on lost causes!

Indians should stop living in past, we have enjoyed the wrath WOT brought upon Pakistan a lot.

Pakistan may be a condom but a good thermometer as well to know where the warmth of Geo political alliences is shifting. Price and trend of a whore can tell a lot about a town. Such revelations can not be guessed from strategic Kumbhkarana country like India.

Since Pakistan is a hyper swing state of Sub continent It will be worth giving a thought how Pakistanis will be perceiving Obama's flip flops on Syria and Russia and China together playing proactive roles on Geo-politico-strategic issues.

Pakistan is readying for new master/s in full swing.

Wake up.

Uncle is exiting out of Afghan, that gives all sorts of ideas tothose who are in Pak.
terrorists in Pak who want to take on Afghan are geting ready for civil war. GOP want to have their man in power sharing in Kabul.pls they want toget rid of all the bomb blasts and daily killing in Pak bytalibs and TTP. Terrorists and PA who want to get back Kashmir by force want to send Afghan terrorists into India.

Uncle aftet exit will wait and watch. Talibs getting into Kabul will be back to zero for them.
lets see what happens.
