This is good news. Not because he is a Muslim or a Hindu but because now our IB can work with renewed vigour. Imho the hullabaloo over his religion will die down tomorrow or day after.

I only hope this is not a 'secular' appointment but a merit based appointment!

Nonetheless, CBI, RAW etc all have con-gress and coterie appointed stooges; one wrong appointment and look where corrupt con-gress stands today (I'm talking about CAG)!

The loot is so monumental that even Govt. bubus tend to deviate from master-slave relationship and become activists and due to which even the paid-media crooks and PR firms are unable to control / hide the damage (i.e truth) from the public eyes!

Good point. I don't know about that. But it's a bit foolish to write off someone merely because he is a Muslim.
I'm not talking from the "secular" view, because many Hindus are well known anti nationals. Like Arundhuti Roy and many other left leaning and seditious characters.

If a person is qualified and patriotic his religion should not come in the way of his promotion. Be it the director of RAW (Alok Joshi) or IB (Asif Ibrahim) is they are qualified they should be appointed the head. Let's hope political interference does not mess up with these important posts.

As long as there are no stats to prove the risk, and the man has otherwise beaten all his competitors fair and square its okay.

Not all muslims are "religion first community first, state second" type, although most of them are.... but not all.

Not all muslims are "religion first community first, state second" type, although most of them are.... but not all.

IMHO 90%+ have more loyalty to the "Ummah" than to their nation.
