[edit] Biography
The son of Mahesh Bhatt and brother of actress Pooja Bhatt, Rahul weighed 122 kilograms before he began working out. He thanks his fitness mentor Kaizzad Capadia.
It is said that Rahul's father planned to launch him in 2007 with the film, Suicide Bomber, to be directed by Anurag Basu.[1]
In September 2010, Rahul became part of the Indian television reality show, Bigg Boss 4, hosted by Salman Khan. After being evicted from the house, he claimed that the show was scripted.[3]
[edit] Association with David Headley
In September 2008, Rahul Bhatt and friend Vilas Varak met David Headley at a Mumbai gym. Headley seemed like a typical American, and he had much more experience than his young Indian friends in the areas of guns, spycraft, and action movies[citation needed]. After the 26/11 attacks, Headley wrote Rahul an email in which he said he was sorry to hear about what had happened in Mumbai, and that he would soon be visiting them again.[4] According to Headley's testimony, he was fond of Bhatt and wanted to recruit him as ISI agent. He had also prewarned Bhatt not to visit South Mumbai area on November 26, the day when the Mumbai attacks started.[5]
