"‹Putin: No plans for BRICS military, political alliance

The BRICS countries want to challenge the international financial system's dependency on US policies and strengthen the rule of international law, Vladimir Putin said. He stressed, however, that there are no plans for a military or political alliance.

"In the BRICS case we see a whole set of coinciding strategic interests," Russia's President Vladimir Putin said in an exclusive interview with Itar-Tass.

there can't be any military treaty between brics as china prefers pakistan more than india. brazil and south africa don't have any enemies and none have balls to attack russia.

What Putin is stating is no news actually.

Isn't it obvious?

What else is common apart from posing a challenge economically?

Brics could sign non aggression treaties with each other.
N/A treaties involving Brazil and SA would be meaningless as R/C/I are halfway around the world from them and have no bases or carriers operating nearby.

However, non-aggression between Russia, China, and India sounds like a great idea, and one that would certainly give national security planners from London to Washington, and from Islamabad to Tokyo night terrors.

No, I think it is a waste of time for the diplomatic and defence departments of these 3 countries to even planning this kind of treaties.
No one is expecting a war to happen between India and Russia, or China and Russia, in next 30 years.
Indeed, there is problem on Sino-India border. But it is a political issue not a military one. Neither side has the plan or capability to force their claim.
