how different is this bird from AWECS?

AWACS as the name suggest is used for early warning and control. it is sort of a radar in air and helps in guiding our fighter jets to desired battler area quickly.

the aircraft purchased by ARC is for signal and communication intelligence. they will be used for gathering intelligence.

No this is required as well as satellites don't have 24/7 coverage of a certain area. Aircraft can cover.

It is easy to fool satellites too as India proved with its nuclear tests.

Flexibility depends on the sophistication.

An aircraft is hands on. But it too has its limitations!

24x 7 coverage is feasible but then it will require many satellites.
