^^^^^Yes, when you consider India First, and do not associate yourself with any state, its really hard to show even association, leave alone any loyalty towards regionalism!!

If its regionalism.. you shouldn't have let this thread to happen and would have reported it as soon as you saw it. I never knew asking a person , which state u are from is a difficult and emotional question and encourages regionalism.

it's like asking whose son are you???
your mom's or your dad's??
what do u answer generally both........
i get my eyes hair blah blah from mom and my brains and attitute from dad.
same is here .
people can always say they belong to all the state.
in my case my love for litti choka is from bihar
and love for rajma and chole from himachal
c'on this doesn't have to be hard.
we can love all the states we are from.

I am too confused how to answer this, I would say I am from India. My case is difficult, my parents are from UP and WB, I grew up in MP but I worked mostly in Maharastra. I am currently in USA for sometime now. Out of all this states I like MP most, the basic reason, there is absolutely no descrimination based on where you come from, nobody asks nor cares.

there is nothing wrong in asking or saying "which state are you from ? "
it will not make any difference to your loyalty towards the nation.we all do have our nation / state/ district / place / home etc each has it's own importance and value..and make no mistake nation comes first.

Dad is a telugu from andhra pradesh (telangana to be exact)
Mom is a marathi from maharashtra

Couldn't choose both so i decided to choose AP. Though i get most of my looks from my mothers side of the family so people confuse me to be a maharashtrian.

Nah b, I haven't been to most states. And I think I can speak for most here when I say, that most people haven't been to most states either.

Besides, it's just a regular, fun way to get across a little something about the geography of the regions we live in. No ill will meant.

I think that the first claimant of Ashoka's Lion Capital is Bihar and not MP, because Ashoka was born in Pataliputra (Patna), died in Pataliputra (Patna) and had his capital in Pataliputra (Patna).
