TV Series Recommendation Thread

I am easily distracted. I can only watch shows with a female protagonist I can crush on and get emotionally invested in.

Riverdale

12 Monkeys the Movie, not show. The show is pretty mediocre by all accounts.

Waking Life is also a good move.

If nothing works, watch Fight Club for the 150th time.

Best entertainment value is novels without a question. Start by reading Asimov if you're into Sci-Fi.

Is it good?

It's about an alternate history where the Axis powers have won WW2 and invaded the USA and divided it withi themselves. The Nazis were also able to drop an N-bomb on Washington. Field Marshall Rommell becomes the first Reichsmarshall of North America. There are some interesting tidbits about geopolitics in such a world and the humungous technological vision of the Nazis is shown to be implemented. Nazi and Imperial japan aesthetics is overlayed over this alternate world. The Nazis are especially spectacular due to their smart uniforms.

S1 does a lot of buildups and hence it is less eventful but I didn't find it boring. S2 onwards its a very very fast show. This show also has a sci-fi element to it with the theory of parallel universes.

Overall, I loved this show a lot.

Westworld season 1 was awesome and complete. Its a great show if you assume s2 and s3 don't exist

The Americans was good, ending stretched but still ok.

The Loudest Voice was painful.

Terror (S1) is good watch.

McMafia was decent.

Expanse doesn't do justice to the books.

Couldn't watch Mirzapur beyond 2 episodes.

The Boys was entertaining & fresh.

The Sinner (S1) is good watch.

Ozark is good, but should be made shorter.

Narcos Mexico is ok. Next season should be fun.

I don't even know why they massacred the show. First season was great.

@DK, if you don't mind hasty and poor ending but only want female protagonists try watching Penny Dreadful. Eva Green was wonderful in it. Don't know why producers and writers ended it so early.

Stay way from the new one with Natalie Dormer, it is trash.

They did hint Shogun World in the first season, right? But you might be right, the story beyond S1 makes no sense at all. Western writers are all shitfed these days. Looks like fanfic authors from 2005 all grew up.
