But technically, if Turkish air-space is blocked for them and NATO blocks Mediterranean as well, they would have to ask Iran and Iraq to allow them to continue bombing in Syria. Given Iran just clinched a nuclear deal with US and others, it would be difficult for them to be overtly pro-Russia.

In any case, that would happen if everything snowballs into big confrontation between Russia and NATO. I expect in this case, Russia would just take it lying low and find ways to extract revenge on Turkey.
Well, many our foreign bases are in difficult circumstances.

Bases in Armenia are supplied through Iran, Georgian and Azerbaijani routes are blocked. Constant threat of Armenia-Azerbaijan war restart.

Transdniester base is in a half-blockade from Moldova and a complete blockade from Ukraine.

Crimean base is suffering because of the Ukrainian energy and transport blockade.

Belorussian leader has a warm-up period with the EU and is now confronting deploying Russian fighter jets on his territory.

Kaliningrad exclave is surrounded with hostile states, that are also NATO members.

Central Asia bases are in the middle of some upcoming serious sh*t.

No doubt, we have serious challenges ahead. Bad times are coming.

Thanks for the detailed picture of Russian bases in this region.

So, effectively this means US will deny any involvement as on its own Russia can hardly take any direct measures against Turkey. Russian position is much weaker than I expected, so it implies Turkey-Russia stand-off will end with cutting off economic relations.

Kurd will get weapons and direct air support from Russia

Yes, they can do that.

I do not think much will happen as NATO will not make any strong statements except promising their help to Turkey in case of Russian aggression. And thus Russia cannot impose any direct military cost on Turkey.

This is not a good news. This will increase oil prices and transportation cost around the world. We have seen in earlier times too when US and Russia clash, it creates trouble around the world. But this time it's a direct one most probably.

Question should be how India will see this and will Indian diplomacy favor Russia, or the US or remain NAM. Things are not good, because now a slot of countries are directly involved not via proxy but face to face.

Russia is trying best to avoid direct confrontation and beginning of third world war.

Absolutely, any military action has no prospects.

That is also true for Turkey.

They are in a smoldering conflict with Greece and Cyprus over Cyprus, a direct conflict with Assad's Syria, an irregular warfare with Kurds on their own territory, a proxy conflict with Syrian Kurds, hostile relations with Armenia caused by genocide of Armenians, tarnished relations with EU over migrant crisis and Israel over support of Muslim fundamentalists.

Now they have spoiled relations with Russia.

The Su-24 wasn't carrying any countermeasures or if it did, they're outdated 80s ones. So the plane didn't stand a chance when fired upon.

@Mad Indian where are you now? Your zionist chaddi buddies are in celebration mode at death of soldiers bombing islamic extremists? Don't you wanna say something in support of your A**ah?
 look skin head, if you want to cheer Jewish deaths , that's your problem. I have more more important things to worry about than what happens in the shithole called ME. Frankly, I wouldn't care if the entire middle East goes to bust and is nuked. I would not give a damn.

Su-30 and the Navy's 34's is more powerful.

Iraq have old Su-25 and will buy Su-30 or 35's in future.

Of course the wars in Iraq must stop so the can buy Russia's.

Iraq have no Air Force or much down since 2014 in 2015 wars vs ISIS.
