Average guy does not take Ahimsa seriously. Gandhi is loved only on currency notes, nowhere else. Just remember the way war cries were raised during uri, pathankot attacks. IMO we need one war to come out of this ahimsa paradigm. One war where India achieves its political objectives not just millitary ones. That will be a coming of age moment for the nation
I get what you're saying, but there still seems to be too much reverence given to this guy. Even the current PM seems to elevate Gandhi above everyone. He even takes his shoes off whenever he visits a Gandhi statue/memorial, as if this fellow was a Devta or something...
I don't know how much this is nautanki by Modi and how much it is serious reverence for Gandhi, but it doesn't sit well with me. I understand paying him a little respect, he did contribute toward fighting the British, but this is too much in my eyes.
