He was within a trigger press of obtaining an appointment with 72 hoors but for political interference by all accounts.
2 things, one is that Pakistan does not admit to harboring Dawood officially so to expect them to confirm his death considering that is wishful to put it politely. The other thing is a few months ago around when Nijjar got liquidated it seemed that there were credible rumors that Pannu also died in some accident but no one who mentioned that news ever circled back to it or even mentioned it again when it was quite clear that it wasn't true.
