SUPARCO vs ISRO: Pakistan Ready to Spy on India with SUPARCO
Pakistan’s Space Agency SUPARCO is all set to launch an ambitious space program next year to keep an eye on India, and countering ISRO. But why was SUPARCO left behind by (ISRO) Indian Space Research Organization and the Chinese Space Agency (CNSA) despite being a decade ahead?
Pakistan’s Space Agency, SUPARCO is all geared up to launch an ambitious space programme during the next year with the intention to keep an eye Indian movements side and reduce its dependence on international satellites for both civil and military purposes.
As per Pakistan media, several projects will be launched to promote self-reliance potential and reduce dependence on foreign satellites, especially the American and French satellites. The budget of the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Organisation (SUPARCO) for the upcoming financial year 2018-19 would Rs 4.70B which comprises Rs 2.55 billion for three new projects.
Abdus Salam: The Man Behind SUPARCO
As reported by EurAsian Times, the founder of Pakistanis space programme, Abdus Salam was the first Pakistani, and the first Muslim to receive a Nobel Prize in Science and Technology, and only the second Muslim to receive Nobel Prize. Despite his enormous accomplishments and international adulation, Abdus Salam was never glorified in Pakistan as he belonged to highly persecuted Ahmadiyya sect. Many top politicians, religious leaders, and bureaucrats in Pakistan also opposed Abdus Salam leading a prestigious programme.
There was little funding and great indifference from the government to enhance the condition of SUPARCO. Later the government shifted all the funds associated with SUPARCO to the atomic bomb project, due to which Pakistan’s space agency failed to take off. Later, between 1980 and 1990, the Pakistani president Zia-ul-Haq, further withdrew the funding to the space agency, and also replaced the scientists. The focus of Pakistan was just to counter the rising threat of India. SUPARCO lacked adequate funding, genuine interest and political vision to improve the condition of subcontinents oldest space agency.
While ISRO launched its first communications satellite and started the technology sharing programs with several countries including the USSR, Pakistan’s SUPARCO just lacked political vision and funding, to counter Indian ISRO.
Even today, SUPARCO has not been able to do much; mainly due to low education level, lack of political interest, and most importantly scarce funding. The space agency is now counting its hopes on a Mission 2040 – by when they aim to have their own satellite making and launching capabilities. Whether the oldest space agency in the subcontinent will meet its target is again a big question.

Pakistan, once South Asia’s forefront in space exploration,

Published in The Express Tribune, September 3rd, 2018.
Who is writer of such bullshits ???

When was SUPARCO a leading/forefront in space exploration ????

It was just established before ISRO but was never leading or was forefront organisation

The funny thing is that Ahmadis were the ones who were the most vocal for partition. Ahmadis are to be blamed themselves. Most Pakistanis don't know this but Jinnah was Shia and the bigegst backers of Pakistan was Ahmadis

What came in my mind after reading the description of smuggled items.

1. These aren't simple technology. They have military applications.

2. This proves China isn't helping them fully to become self-sufficient.

It could have two meanings in my opinion.

1- As you have mentioned, Higher then Mt Everest, Deeper then Challenger depth, Sweeter then sucrose and all these :bs:are just to fool Paki awam.

2-
On second thought China is effectively using Pakis to smuggle for them as these has been done as back as 2012.

Yeah! This secret recipe is to tie bombs around your body, wear bomb jackets, drive a car or truck filled with explosives and detonate it BOOM saying ALLAH WHO AKBAR killing people and that Pakistani astronaut straight away goes to another world. It works lightening fast. Much better than NASA technology. That's why suparco is the world's best space agency run by isi and porki gernails....:pound::pound::pound:

Yeah... In Quran there is mention of dividing the moon in half or something like that by someone. I think SUPARCO is actively studying the reason behind that someone for taking 15 long days to accomplish the feat.

First Pakistani astronauts to be in space in 2022?
Alternate headline : PIGS MAY FLY IN 2022??

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will send a human to space for the first time in 2022 with China's help, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced Thursday, the same year India plans to launch its manned space mission.

Pakistan's first space mission has been planned for 2022 and the federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the plan on Thursday, ahead of his maiden visit to Beijing from November 3.

An agreement between Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and a Chinese company has already been signed, Chaudhry said.

In his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ambitious mission of sending an Indian astronaut to space by 2022, which would make India the fourth nation in the world to do so.

"We have resolved that by 2022, when India celebrates 75 years of Independence or maybe even before that, certainly some of our young boys and girls will unfurl the Tricolour in space," Modi said from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 72nd Independence Day.

Pakistan and China already have robust defence ties and Islamabad is one of the top buyers of Chinese military hardware.

Earlier this year, Pakistan launched:laugh::laugh: two indigenously built satellites:laugh::laugh: into orbit, using a Chinese launch vehicle.

The satellites were launched onboard a Chinese Long March (LM-2C) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre located at the Gobi desert, China.

One of the satellites launched was a remote sensing satellite (PRSS1) – a dual-purpose Earth observational and optical satellite.

The second test satellite launched was a PAK-TES-1A, developed by Space and Upper Atmospheric Research Commission (Suparco) to enhance satellite manufacture capabilities in the country which would help end Pakistan's dependency on commercial satellites for information related to weather, environment and agriculture.

The satellites were transported to China as Pakistan lacks the infrastructure to launch objects, the Express Tribune quoted an official as saying.

China launched its first manned space mission in 2003, becoming the third country in the world to independently develop manned spaceflight, after Russia and the United States.

Prime Minister Khan is embarking on his first visit to China on November 3 and will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, Geo News quoted the Foreign Office as saying.

During the visit the two sides will review the entire range of bilateral relations which have enjoyed a long history of mutual trust and mutual support. The two sides will also sign several agreements in diverse fields, the Foreign Office statement added.

This will be the premier's first official visit to China after assuming office in August.

The visit signifies the closeness and traditional warmth which characterises Pakistan-China all weather strategic cooperative partnership, the statement added.

After his visit to Beijing, Khan will visit Shanghai to participate in First China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The premier will be a key note speaker at the inauguration of the expo.

He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Well!!
What will pakis gain with this stunt, without a robust program, infrastructure or capability to launch own satellites, or even continue the human space program that leads to inter planetary expeditions.
What will be their objectives in this mission?
Its like a state sponsored space tourism of pakistan.
Keeping up with their tradition of continuing to do costly things that doesn't benefit pakistan like Terrorism.

Every country sends MONKEYS and other animals into space for experiments. So what if China wants to send a Porkistani for Experiments.:pound::pound::pound:

As it is Porkistan is drowning in Chinese debt mountain and if it wants a live specimen for experiments they can easily demand one from Pakistan. :biggrin2:

And Pak establishment and their super duper space agency SUPORKO could be packaging it as achievement and some kind of consolation and winning sense against India and ISRO when in 2022 India will be sending it's astronaut into space on their own rockets from India.:)
