china loan: 890 billion dollar for 900 projects , what would happen if these are unsucessful?

colossal bankruptcy and tension with stakeholder to recover money and parallely tension with all arch rival enjoying peace of cake with contracts and these will be used to further manipulate china only

just an if scenario

india and U.S have defence pacts not economic alignment
Exactly chinese are distributing debt they bought from usa to rest of the world. There mindless investments like ghost cities in china , spending around thd world in projects of no economic value but strategic value eg: cpec, srilanka port, Myanmar, africa explains this only.

China is just distributing dollars around the world. Thats why in my many posts I use to say usa is a hidden hand in gloves called china.

Only big time losers are russians and India(though we partly buy usa weapons for a slight edge on china is a smart move).

If we think americans are strategic friends to be trusted, we are big fools. Its just business as usual.

indians are not fool to alligned with anyone but it will serve its interest even during cold war

china production strength requires a market which us is not now and india is the biggest market for it in asia and if china want to hurt by CPEC its economic interest in india will be hurt which in turn will damage chinese economy growth rate

thats why appeasement on changing the name of CPEC and etc

Adding something to this:

This also significantly explains why china is aggressive to have a war on countries which can stand up to them.

Usa has 3 ways of strengthing its dollar
1. Internal market economy
2. Outsourcing multinational companies like apple , nike etc
3. Global dollar trade backed by opec(explains y usa wants to control middle eastern countries ),& military sales to sustain its vast military complex.

Usa's internal economy is trash (small businesses run on internal consumption ie domestic businesses)[these employment opportunities are worst effected by recession].

Second is outsourcing companies google which take services of cheap labour from countries like India , china etc. For example These services only add value to there dollar ie 5 dollar shoes in manufacturing costs are sold for 100dollars in usa, rest 95$ profit. [Drawback with this is, it killed traditional local small companies and jobs but added value to $, idiot trump wants to balance it and miraculously generate local businesses lol]

Third oil and military sales on which usa is surviving because internal economy is beyond recovery, trump fingering its outsourcing companies (he can juggle there bases from china to India etc or among other countries ).

But the fat dog gone obese is china from usa outsourcing.

THE ONLY WAY
FAT DOG CHINA AND LAZY USA CAN COME OUT OF THERE PROBLEMS IS WAR.

USA GETS MILITARY SALES & FAT DOG CHINA HELPS IT TO GET A WAR TO SHED SOME WEIGHT.

SO INDIA, SOUTH CHINA SEA COUNTRIES ARE POTENTIAL WEAPONS MARKET FOR USA.

*ANY ONE REMEMBER NATO CHIEF URGING ITS ALLIES TO BUY WEAPONS COUPLE OF MONTHS BACK*

OBOR is an important step for China to displace US Dollar as world's most used currency and finish American hegemony.

we have a greece coming up in neighbourhood in some time, wait and watch

"india is the founding member of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), which aims to provide financial support for the infrastructure construction in the countries along the routes of the Belt and Road Initiative. India gave positive response to China’s proposal and held the second round of negotiation working group meeting in Mumbai. India contributed 8 billion US dollars and became the second largest shareholder at the AIIB."

this was done during raguram ranjan just to address coal energy till the time renewable energy met out , india has 7.5% voting stakes here to

it can reap benefits where its required

Reading some of the opinions above, there is an assumption that new president of US has an opinion on US-India relationships.

I believe Americans haven't decided yet on how to go about with India relationship. I doubt if trump administration would form an opinion even 15 days before modi meeting.

There was never any strategic partnership with US, because as a country we are usually non-commital on global issues like war in Middle East.

Our relationship with America is more issue based, like for supporting climate deal we got entry into MCTR.

On matters of economy, we don't need US government. We need access to their investors, which already exists. And FII and FDI is coming in at a good pace. Last Fiscal there was. 9% growth in FDI.

Basically what I am saying is, don't expect too much out of India-America relationship. And expect the status quo to continue .

  • Protests in Gilgit-Baltistan as OBOR summit opens in Beijing

As China opened one of its biggest foreign policy initiatives since 1949 - the One Belt One Road (OBOR) summit in Beijing, which is being attended by heads of state and government of over 23 nations, including Pakistan, protests broke out in Gilgit-Baltistan against the ongoing construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project under the Belt and Road initiative.

Various students and political organisations including Karakoram Students Organisation, Balawaristan National Students Organisation, Gilgit Baltistan United Movement and Balawaristan National Front have been protesting against OBOR in Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu and Ghizer.

They described the project as an illegal attempt to grab Gilgit and see it as a "Road of Gulami or Slavery for Gilgit-Baltistan ". Protestors across Gilgit see the CPEC and OBOR as a ploy by China to take over their territory. Carrying placards and banners stating " Stop Chinese Imperialism " protestors have been calling on the World Community to stop this Chinese transgression on Gilgit's soil which remains disputed since 1948-49.

They claimed that China has entered Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) illegally with the help of Pakistan, adding that a well-conceived two-pronged strategy has been put in place to facilitate continued Chinese military presence in Pakistan and to counter the United States through CPEC.

The USD 51.5 billion multi-layered infrastructure project aims to connect Kashgar in China's western Xinjiang province with Gwadar Port in Balochistan.

China is reportedly establishing some military bases in Gilgit-Baltistan, a territory whose sovereignty is disputed, said the founder of the Gilgit-Baltistan Thinkers Forum, Wajahat Khan.

Both China and Pakistan have crushed the legitimate concerns of the people of the region, violating their human rights to achieve CPEC objectives.

According to Senge H. Sering, a scholar from Gilgit-Baltistan who is based in Washington D.C., "China has a huge and long-term presence in Gilgit-Baltistan and is building extensive roads, bridges and telecom networks to sustain it. The drives compelling China to develop the Karakoram Corridor are diverse and mainly pertain to its economic, strategic and political ambitions."

There is military component to this much-touted economic development project as there is a construction of an army headquarters in the Gilgit-Baltistan region for the security of the CPEC.

Various political and human rights organisations have expressed their concern over the silent invasion of China, so much so, that Pakistan has complicated the situation further by increasing the percentage of the Sunni population over a predominant Shia region.

Balwaristan National Front (BNF) president Abdul Hamid Khan said, "The attempt (to build CPEC in Gilgit-Baltistan) amounts to a deliberate violation of the UNCIP as well as against the will of the people after the passage of 67 years of deprivation under the occupation of Pakistan in the name of (the) J&K dispute."

The people in Gilgit Baltistan are worried as thousands of Chinese workers are being deployed or posted in Gilgit to construct the CPEC at their expense.

China vs usa friendly relations is always a catch of ones debt vs anothers concern of devaluation of dollars.

Real issue is north korea for usa. Thats y china is engaged by usa . You know India doesnt need to engage isreal, russians for support. It just need to call south korea, Vietnam for little talk to pressurise americans. Thats all required back home hillary supporters will keep trump on his toes lol.

As far as pakistan is concerned its just betchhhhh with couple of more customers in que.

Remember when bullets rain all investors (countries )know how to shove them in pakis a$$$
Look at the deep cunning of the US. First they got us into the Naval alliance against China and once we ruined our relationship with China, they themselves joined their CPEC project. Their thinking is that India is cornered and will use its aggression in the SCS while US gets the best of both worlds : a strong alliance against SCS and a good business deal in the CPEC and India gets the worst of both worlds : no gains from SCS conflict and our sovereignty gets challenged in POK.

The best way to respond to this is to reverse it. Withdraw from the anti-SCS alliance and hit CPEC. When I say hit, I don't mean just metaphorically. Just plant C4 and bring the bridge down.

Americans going to this meeting is part of the beef trade deal with china announced last week.

Going to this meeting does not mean they are part of OBOR.

Pakistan signs nearly $500 million in China deals at Silk Road summit

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan signed new deals with China on Saturday worth nearly $500 million ahead of Beijing's international forum on its "Silk Road" trade and infrastructure initiative for Asia, Africa and Europe, the Pakistani government said.

The memorandums of understanding add to $57 billion already pledged for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a network of rail, road and energy infrastructure that is part of the wider Chinese project also known as One Belt-One Road.

The deals came as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping ahead of the Beijing summit expected to be attended by leaders from at least 29 countries to promote Xi's vision of expanding trade links

Delegates in Beijing will hold a series of sessions on Sunday to discuss the plan in more detail, including trade and finance.

Proposed in 2013 by Xi, the project is broad on ambition but still short on specifics.

Pakistan has been a flagship country and one of the most enthusiastic supporters of the One Belt-One Road initiative, in part because many projects are for power plants to alleviate the country's decade-long energy-shortage crisis that sees frequent blackouts.

"China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a core component of your visionary initiative of the "One Belt-One Road," Sharif told Xi when they met at the Great Hall of China on Saturday, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan

PROJECTS

Xi called for a swift completion of projects involving Gwadar Port and special economic and industrial parks along the corridor, state Xinhua news service reported.

Among the 3.4 billion RMB($493 million) in deals Sharif's office said were signed on Saturday were:

Two cooperation agreements worth 2.3 billion RMB ($333 million) for an airport in the southwestern town of Gwadar, site of a deep-water port that is to provide an outlet to the Arabian Sea from the far western Chinese province of Xinjiang.

Establishment of the Havelian Dry Port in Pakistan.

Agreement on economic and technical cooperation (1.1 billion RMB) ($160 million) for the East Bay Expressway linking Gwadar to Pakistan's existing highway system.

China says that between 2014 and 2016, its businesses signed projects worth $304.9 billion in Belt and Road countries. Some of the projects could be in development for years.

Some countries are wary of the debt burden that the Chinese financing could create.

Pakistan, however, has expressed an optimistic view, with the government's chief economist telling Reuters this week that the repayments will peak at around $5 billion in 2022, but will be more than offset by transit fees charged on the new transport corridor.

So....its becoming little more clear.....the world is becoming BIPOLAR again ...with one pole ..China plus Russia supported by Islamic countries....the other pole US plus Europe supported by Japan,South Korea and India..
This is a great challenge for India but this also can be greatest opportunity for India. Nobody can underestimate power of 1.2 billion Indian equipped with knowledge of Science and technology under current patriotic leaders.
India did the right thing by not supporting CPEC as it has the courage to stand up to its souvernity .
If China is so insensitive to India's concern about POK , then India does not have to be part of belt and road. India needs to keep its backbone straight and head high..it has lot to contribute to World.

I don't know how you came to this conclusion :confused1: I would say the first part is true somewhat (China and Russia yes while some but not all Islamic countries are united) while the rest of the world is in disarray squabbling among themselves.

The Porkis and their Chinese masters thought it would be smooth sailing! But now protests against the Project and terror strikes have started happening along the CPEC from Balochistan to GB. Tough times ahead. Will the CPEC be scrapped due to security reasons? Let's wait and see!

Just read the DAWN article on CPEC details. Its wholesale auction of porkiland to China. Vast tracks of land will be sold to Chinese to grow crops, fruits and vegetables to be sold to China. All industrial parks will be owned by Chinese. Exclusive housing societies for Chinese. Pakis will only be subcontractors. It seems even Pak army has given up on Pakistan and will earn huge commissions on this Heera mandi sale. It is now also clear that there is no space for conventional war between India and pak as China will surely get involved. We will fight sub conventionally and if threshold is crossed, we will have no choice but to go for nuke first strike.
