At Least 119 Naxals, 65 Terrorists Killed Till May This Year

In the first five months of the year, security forces deployed in the different parts of the country have killed at least 119 Naxals and 65 terrorists. In comparison, 136 Maoists were killed in the whole of 2017. Incidents of Naxalism have come down 36.6 per cent between 2014 and 2017 and the number of civilians and paramilitary deaths in Naxal violence have decreased 55.5 per cent. While 6,524 incidents of Naxalism were reported between 2010 and 2013, the number came down to 4,136 between 2014 and 2017. In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces neutralised 619 terrorists between 2014 and 2017 against 471 between 2010 and 2013. The Union home ministry has said that there has been "visible improvement" in the security scenario.

मुंगेर। जिले में बुधवार देर रात नक्सलियों ने जमकर तांडव मचाया है। यहां खड़गपुर झील के पुनरूद्धार में लगी एजेंसी पर धावा बोलकर नक्सलियों ने करीब दर्जन भर वाहनों को आग के हवाले कर दिया। बताया जा रहा है कि 25 की संख्या में आए ये नक्सली हथियारों से लैस थे।

बता दें कि बुधवार रात करीब 10 बजे दो दर्जन से अधिक हथियारबंद नक्सलियों ने खड़गपुर झील के पुनरुद्धार में लगी निर्माण एजेंसी के दर्जन भर वाहनों में आग लगा दी। इससे आसपास के लोगों में दहशत का माहौल है। वहीं, इस मामले में हवेली खड़गपुर के एसडीपीओ से बात करने का प्रयास किया गया तो लगातार फोन रिंग होने के बाद भी उनसे संपर्क नहीं हो सका
तारापुर सिंचाई प्रमंडल के कार्यपालक अभियंता महेंद्र प्रसाद ने बताया कि नक्सलियों ने दर्जनों वाहनों को आग में झोंक दिया है। वहीं, नक्सलसियों ने बिहार सरकार की सिंचाई परियोजना में काम कर रहे प्राइवेट कंपनी के आठ मजदूरों को बंधक बना लिया। जानकारी के मुताबिक, नक्सलियों ने चार मजदूरों को देर रात मुक्त कर दिया और चार मजदूरों को अपने साथ ले गए।

IMO naxals are running scared of the development reaching the hinterland. Their only propaganda for recruitment is that Govt snatched away forests of villagers and did not implement any development in those areas. Now with Govt trying to make roads, mobile towers, irrigation projects, hospitals etc villagers/ tribals will understand that the naxal story is fake. Their new recruits supply will be reduced.

Naxals are neither well trained nor well armed. Those outdated rifles are the mainstay of Naxals. If a Naxal gets killed with a "modern" rifle like AK or Insas, it makes headline.

India would have been in world of trouble if that wasn't the case. This is the primary reason that Naxals attack or move in larger formations than any other insurgent group in India.

Take the above mentioned incident of vehicles burning. You will never see 25 cock suckers lumped together in J&K.

CRPF’s CoBRA commando killed in encounter with Maoists in Jharkhand, cop injured

A CoBRA commando of the CRPF was killed and a policeman injured during an encounter with Maoists in Saraikela area of Jharkhand on Thursday, officials said.

They said a gunbattle began early morning in the Dalbhaga-Arki area of the Saraikela-Kharsawan district at about 7 am when a joint team of the 209th battalion of the CoBRA (commando battalion for resolute action) and Jharkhand Police was out for operation.

A commando has been killed while a state police personnel has been injured during the encounter, they said.

The encounter took place in Saraikela, the administrative headquarter of Saraikela Kharsawan district which is about 135-km from the state capital here.

Heavy firing is still on and further details are awaited, they said.
