In any case High Speed Trains will be built on an elevated platform so no chance of blockade. The will is weak, cash and demand is there.

If bullet trains do come, we can witness a real estate and economic revolution.

Imagine being able to board a train 250 km from Delhi, say in Chandigarh and then be able to hit Delhi Downtown in an hour.
bullet train can only be possible on new elevated line , not on existed lines.

I think at current stage, India can update the current railway structure and raise the speed of current train first. It's much cheaper than build new railway and bullet trains. It can raise the speed to more than 100 miles/hour and that also can resolve a lot of problems.

The proposed bullet train is to cater for different set of peoples, specially the business class travelers, those who wants to travel say Between Mumbai to Ahmadabad in 2 hrs flat but do not pay the price of air travel between the same two cities... The bullet train service will cost around 65 - 70 % of the air ticket...

Bullet train is not meant for common and daily to use commuters...

Actually in certain sections bullet trains are also for common commuters, not only for "business class" - like Nanjing-Shanghai, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Kowloon, Taipei-Kaohsiung, and some parts of Japan.

Taipei to Kaohsiung Journey
One great way to make the Taipei to Kaohsiung trip is to use the Taiwan High Speed Rail Service (300km/h Japanese style bullet train). Trains depart Taipei for Kaohsiung every 15 minutes and depending on the number of stations that they stop at they can have you in Kaohsiung in as little as an hour and forty minutes. Ticket prices ranges from NT$1,190 to NT$1,850 one way depending on if it is a weekend or public holiday, business or standard class seats and if the tickets are reserved in advance or not.

Since the Taiwan High Speed Rail Service became operational in 2007 many local airlines have been slashing prices to compete, even to price levels a little lower than the High Speed Rail service. Even though flight times of 40 minutes make flight still the fastest way to make the trip, when you take into account the hassle of going through airports the time difference can quickly disappear. With train travel being more comfortable, the novelty aspect of a trip on a 'bullet train' and the fact that rail transport is more environmentally friendly than air travel it is not hard to declare the High Speed Rail Service as the superior means of transport.
By the way I'm still baffled, at what speed would it be qualified as "bullet train"?

Unless government subsidizes the cost of running the bullet trains, it will not be economical for common peoples availing such service... It is expected to cost around 65 – 70% of air ticket, a common people in India cannot afford that amount"¦ have to be for upper middle class peoples"¦

The cost of running Indian Railways are subsidized currently, hence the lower & middle income people can travel by Railways and tickets are affordable to such persons"¦

The fair of these trains will be much higher than the existing trains. It will be economically feasible when it takes you to your destination in less time than a flight. For example, one can prefer a flight to go to Mumbai from Kolkata ( atleast a cheaper one) but a bullet train to go Cuttack from Kolkata. Normally it takes 6 hrs to reach Cuttack from here ; for Bullet train it will be around 2 hrs which will be less than the time taken if you take a flight to bhubaneswar and goes Cuttack by road.
