I dont think so Britain did leave EU though being WW2 victorNot as long as ww2 images are present in HD, nobody wants to relive that.

Whats the use of being the victor if most of what and whom you know is down to rubble..I dont think so Britain did leave EU though being WW2 victor
What kind of article has that kind of title and says nothing except 'possibly' or 'may' and mentions the jets only in passing?Russia is Jamming GPS Systems Of Powerful F-22 Raptors, F-35 Jets In Middle East

It's called Russian propaganda. It will make bold headlines but the content sre either outrightly absurd or different. What kind of article has that kind of title and says nothing except 'possibly' or 'may' and mentions the jets only in passing?
possibly the 3rd and 4th para citing the US and Israel adminsWhat kind of article has that kind of title and says nothing except 'possibly' or 'may' and mentions the jets only in passing?
I think a more political union will be made around a smaller core (FR, GR, NL, BE, LUX...). But it will take time. Nothing before 10 years.I see EU faltering and breaking all together
Building full jets Vs building mere components is no match. Germany would loose it's competitive edge. F35 is already developed .If you read the german advisors' report, you'll know that requirement of commonality of combat systems across NATO allies is one of the crucial factors for pressing on with the F35.
Regarding maintaining tech edge, Germany's free to add to the pool of resources/tech that NATO utilizes in its combat arsenal, just like BAE and RR from UK do to the F35 program.
But going solo or limited partnership with few european countries rings some bells.
Even France will find it increasingly difficult to field leading edge tech for somewhat reasonable prices, due to lowering economies of scale.
It doesn't have an 'edge'...........Building full jets Vs building mere components is no match. Germany would loose it's competitive edge
All that sounds good in theory but the problem on the long run facing Germany is the abysmal GDP to defense spending (big sticking point for Trump). The largest economy in the EU still doesn't cough up more than 1.2% in GDP for defense, this means even a smaller amount of money available fo gold plated EU based birds. With phase-1 China deal done, Trump's eye falls on the EU next for a new trade deal. A lot of the countries in the EU who already have a surplus with the US are being convinced to buy the F-35 to even out the imbalances, the same could end up the case for Germany.Building full jets Vs building mere components is no match. Why do you think uk is planning to build tempest despite contributing to f35?
France and Germany have no option but to avoid f35 and move forward with fcas otherwise both will be left generations behind us aerospace industry. Same goes for UK unless UK gets to develop next gen engine RR will fall behind same goes for other systems / subsystems.
The ultimate question is if europe wants to be dependent on USA completely or will chart an independent course. For letter they need their own designed stealth jets.
Cost will be higher than f35 but Europe can afford it. Between France Germany and Spain some 500 jets will be sold easily add exports and it will meet numbers of eurofighter typhoon.
That's your opinion. Meanwhile Germany is one the largest defence exporters in the world. But don't mind facts. It doesn't have an 'edge'...........
Germany doesn't spend more for defence because it's massive compared to other European countries. Just increasing German defence budget to 2 % of GDP will put it far ahead of France or UK in spending. Which can be threatening to smaller European nations. All that sounds good in theory but the problem on the long run facing Germany is the abysmal GDP to defense spending (big sticking point for Trump). With F-35 on track to receive the Meteor, Asraam and other EU based goodies, it makes little sense to invest in a massive program subsidized by the taxpayers to get 5th gen abilities 15-20 years down the line.
At it's current spending level Germany can't even keep more than 20% of its entire EF fleet ready for any sort of serious ops.
It's nice to want to operate serious birds for serious wet work but one needs serious cash to keep them operational.
All of those f35 are B Stovl variant, strictly for the navy.Otherwise you should ask UK what is the need for tempest when they have ordered 138 f35!!
Why not buy f35 for RAF too? What lacking in f35 ??All of those f35 are B Stovl variant, strictly for the navy.
Tempest is for the RAF.
Timeline...Why not buy f35 for RAF too? What lacking in f35 ??
Same logic then goes for Germany .Timeline...
Eurofighters have more than half of their lives left. They were introduced in 2007. Replacement is required only by about 2035.

Again Germany build eurofighters not for war but to sustain its domestic industry. Same goes for fcas it will keep tech skill and talent sustained in German economy. That's primary goal for them .

Why is south Korea developing kf-x despite having f35??
Think deeply it's all not tactical but strategic.
Yup and they have a rather long time line to catch it up.All NATO countries have an obligation to allocate 2% of their GDP Ato defense. West Hermany had more military muscle than unigied Germany and yet NATO has a potential of facing 3 threats in Europe, ME and Asia (the latter where morecand more its economic interests lie).
Germany is considering the F-35 to replace the Tornado, not the Eurofighter, it does make sense for them to start early work on the EF replacement. The Tornado needs to be replaced a lot sooner.Same logic then goes for Germany .
