Yep, that's precisely what my problem is with this jugaad. Now, if somehow they manage to make that thing go faster, then there's no problem.
ATVs will be procured ig they are actually waiting for an indegenious one rn a several Indian companies are working on ATVs I have posted that thread here before

Lastly peak power output was 12 MW.

Then project stopped and deemed as insufficient.

Thanks to mother Russia. Now we can fix the KMGT with the latest materials.
2 questions what was role of russkies in this project ? What was the needed output kaveri was supposed to produce.. it produces 12mw, 15mw in international standards.. and it does sustain it max power rating for longer duration.. now hope they resolve this with newer materials and tech..
In which ship it is supposed to go ?
The ugt16000 makes 16mw not sure international standards or at indian conditions.. if kaveri succeds it can replace them. Those are 9lp +7hp engines we can upscale kaveri to meet those requirements..
Kaveri with 3lp+6hp is already generating descent output.

But by defination all 3 are tractors too bu i guess we are discussing the smaller ones which are used plenty in india (3rd pic )

The regular ones can be used for towing artillery. But making it into a ATGM carrier is ridiculous. ATVs are far better as they are more nimble, smaller and maneuverable.
There are many problems:
1) No protection despite heavy weight compared to ATVs. This also means tractors are fuel inefficient with no gains. So heavier weight is not justified
2) Heavy dust can blind eyes, especially in war zones or desert winds as tractors have no windshield.
3) No carrying space compared to its size which means it can be used as a towing unit but not for carrying load

I am not against jugaad or unconventional thinking. For example, In WW2, Japanese armed Indonesians, Malaysians with cycles and bikes and machine guns and they organised a militia which was highly effective and drove off British & Dutch. But this was because it was a forested area and 2 wheelers had extremely high maneuverability compared to conventional vehicles and was actually a brilliant idea.

But in this case, there is nothing smart in the idea. Tractors are designed as just an engine (similar to train engine) which is meant to be attached with something. Using it directly is counterintuitive and inefficient

ok you need a tractor mounted with atgm right now but it would charge for 3-5 hrs more so you are without anything for 3-5hrs

a 75hp tractor (diesel) cost same as a 40hp (electric) tractor

plus there maybe a case where you dont have electricity (whole pak maybe  )then you would be having problems too diesel is readily available though

the only thing electric tractors would get on the table is that its silent but if you are firing atgm silence may not be a big factor

plus a electric atv would be better than an electric tractor since we are talking bout makeshift vehicles which gets the job done
This won't be ever used in attack only in defence during war around wet marshy fields of North or during coin situations. You are hoping too much from tractor as war platform. It's a jugaad and only being employed in the situations where big vehicles fails. Height of tractor has its own advantages .. think about sarkanda grass and you will understand. Batteries could be swapped. And electric tractors are being built with this in mind. But yeah we are just eating too much pixels for a debate which will not yield any value.

There is nothing Called Arjun's electrical and optics. The electrical and optics are different subsystems which can be installed in other tanks also. So, there is no point talking about electricals and subsystems of Arjun since the same can and has likely been fitted to T90s. There is no advantage to Arjun here.
Rifled guns can't fire a variety of ammos, especially ones with fins like APFSDS. That is why everyone is going for smoothbore.

This is not WW2 with tank vs tank battle. There are drones, planes, helicooters, ATGM, RPGs (recoilless rifles) etc. So, it is absurd to try to counter Abrams tank when such a fight is unlikely to happen.

Except for rifling, the electrical, controls of Arjun can be implemented in T90s. So, the accuracy issue can be resolve, if any.

APS is not really easy to implement on the ground. Tanks are meant to tank heavy fire. This means all the radar, guns etc for APS will be damaged quickly. They are just fancy overengineered things done by west. Not practical

In defences, Arjun has better armour but in offense, Arjun can't fire APFSDS. So you may be right that even in tank vs tank, Arjun may not be better
Can't we change the Barrel from Rifled to say, 120 mm Smoothbore on Arjun's ?

It is 125mm smoothbore which is the norm. It will be problematic to have 120mm smoothbore as new ammunition will have to be developed. Not sure if gun can be changed from 120mm to 125mm without major design changes since the turret is an inherent part of the tank

Even if it's 30 year old plan
It's not feasible
U need cbg for it
We need huge amount of destroyers frigates and especially submarines
Post that we can think about AC coz simultaneously will cost us a lot better focus of 3rd carrier which itself will take atleast 2 years for clearance and then focus on building subs and future destroyers
Forgot the most important part, the planes ! I sincerely think without an IAF order, the TEBDF would sink or will be delayed to such an extent that the existing gov will import more Rafale's
