And that same uniform itself dictates a certain code of personal grooming including....cutting your hair as short as possible if you're going for a combat duty


My insensitivity was on the idea of differentiating between male and female soldiers based on a very weird thing like helmet. Something that can be solved by things like high-n-tight haircut and low bun doesn't require a differentiation based on gender.

But if still it hurts anyones sentiments then I'm really sorry. I'll delete the post

Regarding Helmet thing... Often there is size difference between Male head and Human Head. Ever tried wearing a female Helmet? And you shall know. We are designing special helmet for Sikhs , why not women?

Lagta hai hum drone nahin bana pa rahe hai.

Sometimes i feel why we not able to make jet engines/drone/aircraft but able to send satellites/lander to space. Very weird.

If right now government funds drdo for kaveri program we have the expertise and technology for a ge404 class engine
But the government will not provide funds to kaveri unless it's dry variant succeeds

R&D&D - Research Design & Development. Its good if its being fabricated by private industries - pvt cos get necessary ToT and they can leverage their existing infrastructure.

Except for brains, most of the DRDO labs don't have much. People are visionary, they have ideas but the overall internal infrastructure is more or less like every other government department. Ever been to SBI? Quite similar. You need tonnes of paperwork for even basic things, even procurement of nut bolts requires everything from RFI to RFP to L1 bidding.

We still use old CAD softwares, FEA softwares are even older, you won't find a single gaming PC/laptop, we are yet to use 3D printing on a large scale, the tools & equipment are old, there is an utter lack of 5-axis CNC machining...

IAF asking for ISTAR for last two decade and MOD requesting ISTAR purchase from USA.
These are software intensive platforms, providing high resolution images with great detail, some thing our DRDO CSE can't achieve. US not interested in selling these to us
