Type 003 Fujian was recently moved away a short distance from berth with new orange items nearby -- these are indications of catapult testing where they move the carrier to safely throw (orange) carts into the water:

Qionglai base, WTC, from October 27th. A total of 14 Y-20 and 15 Y-9 transporter can be seen on the apron and in maintenance hangar.

Very few air forces can field that many large transports much less at one airbase!

This is an operational base not factory grounds at Xian which can show 20 or more Y-20s at any given time:

J-15 catapult variant now in full production. It will likely be used on STOBAR carriers as well so production of the original J-15 variant might have ended.

J-16 with many types of AAMs -- to cover all threat envelopes, including a massive PL-17 that can range out to 500KMs :)

KJ-600 has completed land-based EM catapult tests.

It might be be tested from the Liaoning STOBAR carrier (along with J-35 and J-15B!) The new turboprop engines (AEP500) is rumored be very powerful at 5000KW. But didn't think it could power an aircraft with a radar disk off deck without a cat launch!!

Chinese ships use water cannons against Philippine ships. The Chinese Coast Guard used water cannons against Philippine Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources vessels that were en route to Scarborough Reef in the South China Sea. The Chinese side first demanded to leave it, saying that Scarborough Reef was Chinese territory. The Filipinos ignored the warnings, insisting they were in their exclusive economic zone. In the disputed waters of the South China Sea, incidents periodically occur between the Philippines and China.

Interesting intercept reported by the Japanese!

It is not the first Chinese/Russian joint exercise over the Sea of Japan with the usual assortment of Chinese H-6 bombers and Y-8/9 EW/Specialty aircraft escorted by J-16s:

But the Russian contingent included Su-35 escort from the Knights aerobatic team!!!

KJ-500 as it is landing!!! Magnificent!

KJ-500, China's ubiquitous AEW platform! China has well over thirty of these by Western count but actual number is probably more than 50 considering the numbers spotted at PLAAF and maker Shaanxi's airfields:

To put things in perspective, most airforces fly only a small amount of AEW planes that could be counted on one hand. A fairly large air force like the Indian Air Force has only five AEW aircraft in service.
