Adoption of BRICS currency is not ideal for us. India has a cumulative trade deficit of almost 116 Billion Dollars with BRICS (China 73 B$ + Russian 43 B$).

Where as our main source of income is Dollars from the West. If we shift to trading in BRICS currency with these nations, we will soon have a deficit in BRICS currency equivalent to 100 B $ , which we cannot pay off with Dollars.

This BRICS deficit will then have to be paid off by taking loans form BRICS banks, like the IMF bailouts.

For us to actually successfully use BRICS currency our customers also have to shift to BRICS currency ie EU & US. Not gonna happen.
Such currency works for Europe where a lot of member countries have high GDP per capita and share their Borders and accessible over Inter-country Highways.

For BRICS, it makes no sense when South Africa/Brazil/Russia are so far away.

Hello people, BRICS is making some progress. See the early prototype of the BRICS PAY multicurrency digital payments system in use. New Development Bank has ratified it and has been already making waves.

Looks like BRICS likes to work in the shadows. At this rate, a new trading currency's announcement is not impossible.

Smart decision to stay away from media and quietly work so as not to invite NATO's wrath directly.

The way some people here dismiss the BRICS+ is laughable when it is a reality that will only get bigger. The only way to navigate through this is to participate in its expansion & dilute any one country's shadow.

You're living in the 50s, bud. It's 2023 now. Today distances do not define alliances; connectivity, digitization and logistics do. And BRICS has that, plus GDP as well as the market consumer base of the present and future.

The planned currency is not a replacement of sovereign currencies, but a common trading currency that would be directly convertible to each member state's currency - sort of like an independent dollar without the Western chokehold.

The regulator will be the New Development Bank which is already doing pretty well financing scores of projects across emerging economies, focusing on one micro-issue after another; from constructing powerplants to financing roads, hospitals and educational institutes.

Here is another proof of how things are being worked on behind the scenes:

BRICS Bank Aims to Increase Local-Currency Borrowing to 30%

BRICS is the reality and whether some of the people like it or not, it is the only ticket to get rid of the Globohomo dominance.

I propose that in order to establish a true BRIC currency that withstands the scrutiny and avoids the machinations of a selected few, the following scheme be up for consideration:

The value of the planned common trading currency will be based on the weighed value of each member's currency and the weighed value will be based on many factors that will make it hard to manipulate the currency and keep track of the country's fundamental strengths and weaknesses, such as current reserves, gold holdings and other precious metal holdings, eternal & internal debt, GDP size, GDP per capita, value of economic output based on several key sectors and associated value with such output.

All those factors will be graded according to an agreed upon criteria and 5 different formulas drafted by 5 different economic team selected by a BRICS committee and the highest and lowest result will be thrown out and the 3 middle results will be averaged out to give out the BRICS' member's currency value and that currency value will be added to the other BRICS' members currency values to obtain the common trading value.

I know when I was born and I have seen how Euro grow to be popular currency in Europe.

Wake me up when BRICS currency gains any support in BRICS nations. Good luck having people moving from India to Brazil to spend that currency!

It seems like the new US puppet president of Argentina has axed his country's foot. Javier Millei formally rejected the invitation to join BRICS.

Given that his entire campaign was bankrolled by the CIA, this was expected. He is just Bolsonaro on steroids. Argentina was an important partner from a strategic minerals perspective. They are a resource powerhouse. While this does not spoil the relations between India and Argentina bilaterally, it would have made sense to have them in BRICS since Chile and Colombia are firmly in American pockets.

This is going to bite Argentina in the ass in the coming years. The man screwed up his country's chances to play a major role in the world.

We need to separate things ..
Argentina is in the situation of where we were in 1991 and they have been in this situation for years . They are socialist pro max .. I for one believe that Argentina is in such a hole that there is nowhere to go but up.
The way they were going they would be a drag on BRICS rather than an asset .

The CIA won't let the country join BRICS.

This term of Milei will see his men penetrate deep into the administration and will be the USA's henchmen in the Argentine bureaucracy. Argentina for some time will remain out of reach. I the current president alleviates their economic domestic pain, we can expect a return of Milei again which would strengthen the American stranglehold on Argentina.

The domestic political reforms in Argentina have nothing to do with BRICS. We are not NATO and we won't be expecting them to comply with every diktat that we make. Milei could continue reforming internally even after joining BRICS; it is not a socialist organization that promotes some sort of Communist-era policies. It is designed for trading better and promoting businesses from the developing world.

If you look at the words quoted from his letter to BRICS members, you will find that he is just speaking the words that the CIA ordered him to write. The wording is classic American and it is not surprising. CIA and the Pentagon openly bankrolled his campaign and he was proud to have stated an American influence even before his election.

Milei is trying some sweeping reforms which sound good on paper, but the Argentine population is not used to such sweeping changes. This could go either way for him; if it shows early positive results, he would gain a second term soon. If not, then Argentina would see mass protests and violence.

For the foreseeable future, Argentina can be safely assumed to become an American vassal in South America. Leftism in South America is not seen from a commie/cultural destruction point of view. It is seen as a bastion to keep away from American vassalage.

Argentina is a resource powerhouse and that is why we needed them in BRICS+ in the first place. Sure, bilaterally we can continue trading with them and nothing would change that. But tomorrow if we have to influence policies related to, say, Lithium mining as a broad consensus, then Argentina won't be willing to sign.

Lol well, I do like him because he wasn't afraid to take on the libtards and the woke crowd.
The Argentinian elections were rigged from the beginning. While the public sentiments were against the Left-leaning government, this particular candidate was handpicked and the media were bought to make him look like the "cool, unconventional leader".

The CIA will pretend to pander to him for some months and then if he does not sell enough Argentinian assets to the US deep state-backed corporations, they will make him into another Jorge Videla and dispose off him. While Argentina continues to suffer.

Argentina does not have a Westoid problem. Remember, the "far right" in South America equals woke lovers and corporate sell-outs. There is no standard definition of the "far right" in the Anglo-Saxon world; notice how they try to make the Modi government look like villains by calling us "far-right" while they support the same brand of politicians in Latin America.

Milei will be the biggest ass-kisser of the Globohomo gang. He will just put on the image that he hates them and fall short of doing something against them. With the Liberal Rule-Based Order funding him, he is all acting.
