It's a funny cartoon. I wouldn't be so dismissive though. These armour solutions are working against the kind of threat they are facing. They need to get better APCs though.

So, they have (or had) Gatling Guns, silenced LMGs, and other stuff. These guns look fresh out of the factory. Either the armoury the ISIS looted had weapons that were never used, or, well, you know what it is.

It says "EXPLOSIVES." What is it? Explosive Reactive Armour? Just kidding. This is actually a good example of spaced armour that is cheap. Notice, it is a wooden box, not just planks.

I am not particularly impressed with the military hardware used by the Philippines Army. Contrast this with Russia. Even their OMON is well armed with latest BTRs.
